The 6758 is still running on my car and I'm looking at going up again to a 7064 with a 0.93 A/R twin scroll housing...
Will be interesting to see how that big a jump in compressor and turbine A/R will affect the power curve... |

Why are you upgrading? How did the 6758 go?

Car started with a GT2860RS with a billet wheel and Tial 0.64A/R turbine housing. made 230kw ATW's and the turbo was holding it back. On the upside it was on boost at 2000 RPM, full boost but out of legs at 5000rpm
Went to the EFR6258, it made 280kw's ATW and the turbo was too small. Boost was on by 2500 RPM and pulled to 7500RPM, but there was still more in there. Fitted the EFR6758 and made 280kw's ATW's but the medium actuator was being blown open and boost was dropping off at higher RPM's. spool was maybe 500rpm later, transient response was almost exactly the same as the EFR6258 but it had more top end. Win win...BUT, it was still too small and choking off the engine. SO, after much hand wringing and sleepless nights, I am fitted an EFR7064 with the twin scroll 0.93A/R turbine housing. If that doesn't slow the bloody engine down then you know what, I think I'll just live with it!!! If it max's out the 7064 it will be around 560 to 570hp at the crank given its running on E85. That going to be approximately 340 to 350kw's ATW's, in a front wheel drive!!! As the farmer said to the pig, That'll do pig, that'll do!!! |

Still waiting on my EFR to arrive. It's been months since I ordered it. Anyone get one recently or is everyone else still waiting?

Its on an Opel Astra Turbo. Runs a 2.0Lt Z20LET Ecotec engine similar to the US Cobalt Ecotec engines but has belt instead of chain driven cams and a few other bits.
Car is a pure track hack now Personally I am amazed at how its performing. Way over what I expected. I have an R34 GTR and had an STi V4 2 door as well as an Evo 6.5 and this is much more "fun" to drive and seriously quick on the track. It hasn;t the outright grip of the others, but a lot less weight and currently stacks of HP. Even managed to scare a few EVO's off the track Last edited by Aussiegman; 07-06-2011 at 09:40 AM. |

Thanks Geoff, i'll keep that in mind for the GTR..
You guys at Full Race have been great helping me sort and source all the gear. I have the higher actuator already sitting waiting to go on the 6758 and the 7064 is ordered with one already. Also having the speed sensor fitted and wired directly into the Vipec ECU. I'm hoping the 7064 will make a huge difference and should se us clear to 500hp mark easily, especially running E85...Next might be higher comp pitsons as its currently running 8.9:1. Looking at around 10:1 or maybe a bit higher, but then we'll need bigger head studs and maybe new sleeves... |

Hey Geoff
Contemplating a Classic GC-8 fitted 6758. What "bits" do I need to bung it in ( up / downpipe and non standard intake? , and does it fit at all in the stock location or need rotation and fiddling... Nick any pics you may have of the size of this thing in a wrx bonnet would be great also. Nick |

If I go EFR it will be in a GC as well so I am curious what the fitment would be like too. I'm not afraid of some fab work but the allure of possibly buying a bolt on kit could weaken my DIY resolve.
In the interest of not confusing the part numbers up I will just say that I am anxiously awaiting some results of the next step smaller single scroll models. I want to see what the cost in peak HP is to have stock-ish spool out of one of these bad boys. With and without meth. |

For my car as its purely for track use, and more specifically Time Attack, then the extra HP on bigger tracks will be worth it.
I am basically going to end up with a 6758 and manifold to use on short tracks and a 7064 and manifold to use on longer tracks like Sydney's Eastern Creek where the Yokohama World Time Attack / Superlap event is run (all things being equal I hope to run there next year). It should be a relatively simple plug and play change over and a switch of ECU program to get it running. |

Hey guys
There is a 6258 getting around in a pommie STI in the UK, tuned by Area51 From memory - It spools faster than the VF34, but the owner is still running reasonably low boost 17-19psi on the medium actuator which opens at 12PSI ! and making a little more than a VF34 would. I vaguely think it's a 2.5L, and they said maybe the 6758 would be a better match for the 2.5L than the 6258, but boost response will be Much improved with a heaier actuator and tune |
