Eric - any reason you were so far back from Jeff Hurst? You're supposed to be driving the world's biggest overdog!

I was told to sandbag so the car stays in stx

Just kidding.Jeff drove very good. I think once my car is better prepped it will be fast. I was on the limiter 4 times yesterday so I ttied third gear twice during the run.not sure if it helped.

I have a feeling the short second gear is the car's Achilles heel. Not sure how many more revs can be safely squeezed out.

Looks like the "curved wallom" is a standard element now. This is the 3rd course since nats that I've seen them.

Ive noticed that too about the walloms. As for 2nd gear if they make any longer then it would be hurting for acceleration coming out of first.

Don't listen to the old man; he huffs paint in his garage, then makes funny looking motorcycles.

Great last pic of the car.

Accelerated Performance has been running their 470WHP turbo one up to 9000 RPM. I think they were trying to break the engine, but it still hasn't broken.

Most believe you could run it to 8000 RPM without any real issues. The main Ecutek tuner right now I believe sets his standard tunes to 7800 RPM. 8000 RPM would give you about 5 mph over the stock 7400 RPM redline, with 245/40/17 tires.

Ecutek has already implemented launch control so they may be able to change the rev limiter so it doesn't completely kill the car. Not sure if that's legal or not.

I like that last picture. DWX, the raised limiter and launch control is allowed in ST*.

I've used the eyelids twice already.

I'm waiting to try them out in tank slappers.

Is the "launch control" based on the TCS or fuel/timing mapping? You can't mess with the traction control, but fueling/timing is open. Most likely it's fueling/timing so probably legal.

It is fuel/timing. It just lowers the rev limiter to whatever RPM you want to launch at. They also increased the 2nd gear fuel cutoff to 8000rpms, so that 0-60 doesn't require a shift to 3rd.

I wanted to use the curved wallom, when I built the course. You run out of ideas for course design at that location.

Wow. I saw pics of this car on ft86club and didn't realise it was the same until I saw this thread. Car looks great, man!

I didn't really want Rotas before, but after seeing white Grids on your car, I'm having second thoughts. Perfect color/style for WRB. Now get some black vinyl on the roof and you'll be set!

Doesn't look too bad at stock height, either.

Obligatory autox question... I saw in JW2's thread that lots of people were cracking their 11+ bumpers on cones. Is the BRZ a bit more resilient in that respect, that you know of? Not that I'm suggesting you've been driving over cones or anything...but it happens.

+1 for 2nd gear

I tried one run without the abs fuse and locked up the brakes center punched a cone.no damage to the bumper.

2nd gear in mine goes to 59.4 mph with my rim/tire package according to my GPS. A tune will raise the redline to 8K and 63.3 mph which is sufficient for 0-60 and most Autocross courses.. The Soft limiter makes the car hard to drive as it gives up for what feels like ever before it re-engages...:/
