It was pretty overcast when we first got to Boxerfest. This was the only full shot of the car I got at the show:

I really like that SMY badge. I currently have the same "i" badge overlays you had, but definitely prefer a more legitimate looking emblem over an overlay. The "de-chrome" and visual depth the SMY provides makes it very tempting. It looks like SMY's badges only the fit the sedan rear though and they do not make one for the hatch? What are you doing for your rear emblem?

You are correct. Only fits the sedan rear. Not sure what Iím going to do with the rear yet. Currently still has the ďiĒ badge.

Do ittttt. So itís a raw metal ETS core. Sent it to Swaintech fo their BBE coating. Then sprayed the STI logo on it with a stencil and high temp brake caliper paint

I was thinking of picking up a Process West khana in black, so I'll get the WRX logo sprayed in blue or red for max style points

Process West is one of the best options for WRX owners. I used to have one on my old narrowbody. I vote red WRX logo

FYI I asked SMY if they had a rear emblem setup in the works for the hatch, they confirmed that they are working on the molds now and they should be available soon.

And QwaktastiK, question, is the BBE coating different than say, the black coating you can get on a Process West intercooler? I assume PW's is just anodized and not a special performance coating, but I'm not certain. Also, why did you choose the ETS top mount over other options?

Thatís the best news Iíve heard all day! Canít wait for the new SMY badges. Will definitely be ordering some when they get them in. Thanks for the heads up on them!

I donít see any description for Process Westís black powder coat finish.
Grimmspeedís description of their finish is itís a thermal dispersant black powder coated finish.

Swain Tech BBE Heat Emitting Coating:
For parts where you want to get heat out of a part instead of holding it in a part, our BBE coating is applied to help pull heat out of base metal. BBE is commonly used on intercoolers, air cooled cylinders, air cooled heads and brake calipers. Though the primary purpose of the coating is to improve cooling, the coating does offer a durable semi-gloss black finish.

I chose ETS because in my research they have the best cooling and largest core for the GR/GV. FWIR, Grimmspeed takes the cake for the earlier model years. But my research is limited to the STI. Options might differ for the WRX.

Ah interesting. I did note that the ETS was larger, but I had always believed due to price and 'reputation' that Grimmspeed and Process West made the best intercoolers available in any application. That makes sense though that it can vary between WRX, STI and model years. That is good to know.

Iím jumping the gun with posting some of it since it wonít get installed until after the rotated kit gets build, which is 12 weeks. Not sure if thatís 12 weeks wait until it starts to get worked on or 12 weeks until completion. But Iím stoked too. Definitely breaking away from my 2019 plans a bit, but oh well. Brakes are so 2020 anyway.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out what the hell I can get on my car before WBM now that my exhaust install was a bust. Luckily there isn't much

Me not realizing I needed a damned adapter to mate it up to the stock downpipe. Also bending an old bolt off the midpipe and the other bolts on the mufflers being rusted on more or less, thus necessitating I go look for a new one Sunday morning when Subaru parts is closed. So the stock one is back on now and still doesn't leak, which is a bonus!

It was a great time, I'll be at it post-WBM again to finish up.

Beautiful car, tastefully done. I grew up in Schwenksville- my friend is the engine builder at R/T. They run a very tight ship.

Are you going to build your bottom end before the EFR kit or run it conservatively for a while? You'll love the 7163. It's bar none the ideal setup for response and enjoyable power delivery.

Yes, BNM Performance Fab. He said lead time 12 weeks, so the waiting game begins.

Should be very similar to this build:

Thank you. Ah not far from me. And that’s awesome! I truly trust R/T with everything. Been going there for 10+ years now. Nothing short of the best in the business.

Yes, doing an IAG closed deck. And that’s what I’ve been reading. Everyone touts it as the best daily driver turbo. Spools like stock only double the numbers. Sign me up
