Default Another Utec/Idle/Cams question

I've seen a couple other threads regarding the subject, but none that pertained directly to my situation.....Looking for input from people that have actually dealt with this.

I have some Kelford custom 272 cam that like to cause the motor to die on idle. I've tried a few obvious things already but don't seem to do the trick. Starting off, the car never dies after cold start, only after it warms up. When cold, it's lopey (as expected) but not horrible. So far I've kicked up the idle in the ecu as far as 1100 rpms. The fueling is about right on afr-wise but I have played with 0 column values in the utec, adding and subtracting fuel. I also put some timing values in the 0 column, like around 14deg up to 1500 rpms, and played around with low rpm 10% column values as well.

The thing is, when driving and coming to a stop, it wants to drop all the way down and then come back up, so upping the idle doesn't do much to help because it's not "catching" it on decel. Once it dies it wants to die every time after that as well.

Given that temperature seems to make a difference, I'm wondering what I can do to work with that?

If this is a drive by cable then use the idle stop screw and crack open the butterfly a little. Once you have done that go back into the UTEC and recalibrate the TPS to ensure that it reads zero.

If this is a drive by wire then drill a small hole in the butterfly.

You need more air flow.

Don't open it too much otherwsie the idle will be too high

What size should the hole be on a dbw?

I would say pretty small. When I used the set screw to crack mine open, it looked like i hadn't done anything. Yet it made a world of a difference.

Cant you adjust idle tps angle with OpenSource. I'd check that out.

I tried this approch first but it did not help me. Only cracking the Throttle Plate open a bit helped.
