Default PHX: Weekly Eastside Meet

Here is all the info yall will need to know when the meets happen and where the possible locations will be.

The Big-O meet does not take place anymore.

The meet is every Saturday at ~6pm. The meet is primarily held at the Tempe Town Lake Marina. In addition to the Marina, Lot 59 at ASU provides a nice place to meet. We will always, primarily, meet at the Marina, but be sure to check the thread to see if the location has changed. This meet is getting bigger and better each week. Hope to see more and more of yall.

The Marina

Google Maps to The Marina
Click this link. Then click on 'get directions', enter your address, get somd directions, profit.

From Scottsdale/ Rural Rd and the 202:

1.) Head north from the intersection and take your first left turn at Gilbert Rd. Be prepared because this is practically an immediate turn if you are exciting the 202. Gilbert Rd will take you straight to the Marina. You will follow Gilbert Rd under the 202 and straight into the Marina.

2.) If you miss Gilbert Rd or are north of Gilbert heading down Scottsdale Rd have no worries you can still get to the Marina easily. Head west on Curry Rd. It the next light north of Gilbert. Take Curry, to College and turn left. Take this to your first street, which is still College, and take the slight right hand turn. Now go to the stop sign and turn right onto Gilbert. Go under the bridge and then turn right into the Marina.

Lot 59

From Scottsdale/ Rural Rd and the 202:

Head south from the intersection and cross the brigde. You will make a right hand turn, head west, on Rio Salado Rd. On Rio Salado pass through S Packard Drive. You will then take your next left turn into Lot 59. We will park at the base of the mountain closish to the road. When we meet at Lot 59 we primarily try to meet where I have highlighted on the map.

Heres my cell number, 816-213-2297. If you have any questions about directions or concerns call me or PM me.

-Tim

Hey man, Im gonna have to ask you to edit your above post. Im not a mod, but they have made themselves clear that they do not like the idea of a post directing people to another forum. This thread was made for the people to post on this forum, about the weekly awd meet, that I essentially put together. I appreciate everyones enthusiasm about the meet, thats why I wanted to get one started. I know because of the meet that a lot of the nasioc boys have joined azawd, but it does not make it soley an azawd meet. I cross posted forums for a reason, the biggest turn out of awd cars possible. The persons involved in the meet are clearly aware of azawd, and the thread that are for this weekly awd meet. This thread is for new persons, to the meet, so they can get details on what going on. I hate to sound like a grumpy Gregory or just an jackass in general, but please edit your post.

No hard feelings, But AZawd.org will no longer try and help organize meets for members. Sorry that we seemed to "claim" it ours. We will organize an offical meet for the site, if you would like more information, you know were to find it.

Thank you and sorry for misunderstandings.

^^^Believe it or not this was a super chill meet and all were super laid back , I do agree there have been some uptight posts but believe me there was no grief at the meet as a matter of fact most of us rolled up the 101 enjoyed some red robin then went back to lot 59 and chilled again - I really hope everyone on here who was not there understands how much fun it was and you should at least drop by to see whats up -

I just dont care for the type of people that rev up at me when im ordering food(some white kid in a white evo)

Yeah they are REALLY cool people and I love their cars.

I have nothing against Evo's I wish I could afford one though.

Besides there were attempts at east side meets, but i think they died off.

Use search, find it, and bump it back up.

I live right down the street from that intersection. I think Chris_M(?) does as well. Theres a WRB WRX (not Chris_M's) and a black Legacy i see every week over here.

Theres not too many open parking lots though over here. Too many restaurants and not enough space for cars.

Group hug indeed. I just wanted to keep the powers at be happy. Aka the mods. I see no reasons for the sites to stop participating in meets with one another. Thats the reason we had such a great turn out. The reason that it has turned out this way is because everyone was so excited about the way the meet went, they wanted it to keep going. There were some misunderstanding, but we all are adults, most of the time hahaha, so I dont see why the sites cannot work together on this?
