Never went there again lol.
They ALWAYS do this to me. "Want to trade the old one in for a new STi?" No thanks, I'm still in high school.

They're salesmen, they're just doing their job.

Have you ever worked on commission? Gotta talk to everyone. A good salesman can sell 2/10 he talks to, a GREAT one 4/10... The more people you talk to the better the odds. I sold a four thousand dollar training package to an 18 year old kid who just graduated high school. Saw him all the time in the gym and no one ever tried to pitch him cause he looked young... Turns out he made out in grad cash

Ya never know

^^^Truth, most people at the dealership didn't take me seriously either. The first dealership I went to wouldn't even deal with me.

I have a 06 spec b with a vf52

So I went to autozone the other day to get a gasket for the turbo/tmic connection. I use the mr. gasket for it instead. (was told to use these instead)

Me: Do you guys have the mr. gasket. I think its like a gm fuel pump or something. Im trying to figure out if the gasket is causing a leak.
Him: Whats the year make and model?
Me: Im just using it for my turbo on my Subaru.
Him: Maybe thats why you need a new gasket...
Me: Where did you say the gasket was?
Him: (walks me to the isle) Here it is.
Me: Thank you sir.
Him: Do you want a turbo gasket instead?
Me: Nope, this is what I need.

^This

When I was looking for my car I had a short shopping list of vehicles to test drive in one day. I'm 24 but look to be barely 18. One Mazda dealership had a barely used 2011 Evo GSR that I wanted to drive. The salesman wouldn't even give me the time of day and I had to convince him to let me test drive it. I could tell he just thought I was yanking his chain and wanted to joy ride it. I wan't really impressed with the car and down right pissed at how he treated me.

An hour later I was at a Chevy dealership test driving my soon to be STI. I purchased it that day. Just wish I could have taken a picture of my car and the sticker price and sent it to that first salesmen. Show him that I was serious.

Hell, I walked into a Mitsubishi dealership a few months after the Evo X came out. I was like 14-15 at the time and spent 5 minutes talking to the salesman and we went out for a test drive...Me driving...Never understood that. Halfway through the test drive, the salesman asked me why I wasn't pushing it at all.

no way they would let a 14 y.o. kid test drive an Evo without carding them

Hahaha, no, the Bently is brand new, he didn't have it back then. I drove up in my (my dad's) truck, a Roush supercharged F150. My mom was along as well. I remember only having my permit at the time

Hahaha, I'm well aware.

I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that my car was about as fast as my dad's, and is only getting faster with the engine build. He's got twice as many turbo's and 3 times as many cylinders!

Default Fully sik straight cut box bro!!

Hi all. New to the forum but long time suby driver.

I think the funniest moment I had in my REX was a couple of weeks after I bought it.

A little background first. Bought my MY01 AU delivered bug eye about 5 yrs ago. Got it very cheap off the original owner with 59 000 ish km on the clock (yea sorry I am in Australia so I don't know miles).

Any hoo. Mint, black, low k's bug eye, only problem was the gearbox was noisy. Owner freaked out when he got an estimate to fix the problem from the dealer and decided to bail and sell it cheap.

Dropped the cash and pick it up. Was nursing the poor thing home (box was well munted and sounded terrible in the car) when I had to stop at a pedestrian crossing for some local "bros".

Bro 1. "Nice car bro!"
Me. "Yea, cheers. Just picked it up" Grin on dial.
Bro 2. "Box sounds SIK bro. You got straight cut of what?"
Me. Biting tongue as not to laugh (you don't laugh at the local bros) "Ah, yea...... Cost me a mint!"
Bro 1. "Nice one bro.... Got him a blow up valve too?"
Me. Now having proper issues controlling myself. "Nah, not yet. Gotta save some coin".
Bro 2. Making burn out motions with hands. "Pull him a sik skid bro!"
Me. Finally loosing control. Boots the gas and drives off laughing hysterically.

Cheers
