Talking da' Queens Crew Mini-Meet/Install Fest in Action!

sooo what turned out to be a simple suspension install for Garrick's (RidinLow) Acura and My Legacy Turned into a Queen's crew miniMeet & install fest! (oh..and bling fest)

Jon (25RS) needed a tool to install his mudflaps and invited us over to his garage to do the installs. Willie (ImprezaSTIVI) is already at Jon's house helping him xfer the mudflaps from his old car to jon's.

THEN....Michael comes over... and low and behold a couple more people call up willie and jon and say they'll come over: Alan, Rick G, ravnasn, and others that I've forgotten (sorry! Post up if you were there!) Pretty soon we get about 9 cars there, well 8 if you didn't count the Acura Well, Garrick's wife pulled up in the WRX Wagon soon after.

Due to Murphy's Laws, while attempting to remove the struts off the Acura, the bolts sheared off the knuckle. OF COURSE no Honda dealer nearby had the replacement bolts in stock.. :monkey: So we hopped on over to do my car's suspension instead. So began the supposed "easy" installation of my v5 Struts & Eibach springs.....

First thing i have to say: Mad props to Michael!! He definately gave a little too much into the project.. at least the blood from your cuts match the struts!

After silly little setbacks like something to the effect of putting a square peg into a round hole... we managed to get it all together (and no extra bolts or pieces afterwards!) Oh and during the whole process everyone else is washing their cars and basically just flossing 'em!

I took some pix which RidinLow is gonna post up for me...(they're finally up Jon!!!)

& weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Bling Blinggg!!

Actually, didn't we have some extra coil silencers afterwards? ("Hey, uh, what are these rubber things attached to the OEM struts?")

Hey that 'hood looks familiar, I know I'm not far away. I'll definitely stop by next time, just give a hollar and I'm there, one more blue 'RX on the street. I'll even get my hands dirty...

We ended up finishing at around 9, I think, because we went to eat at 10. Chris's car's nuts are in great shape compared to mine.

Default almost forgot this one!

We did rent a spring compressor, but we were too lazy to use it.

that's because I wash down there unlike some people Garrick...

Some more pix:

"Got Strut???"
it's not the length that matters...it's the width of the shaft...

"something's not quite right here..."

At the request of Alan, I'm posting this pic up. He'll offer a FREE 2002 Yellow WRX to anyone who guesses first! (j/k)

Well, at least we didn't bust a nut on the Legacy like on the Acura. Hopefully those bolts will show up on Thursday as promised and we can do this again!

Damn I missed it. Well it looks like you guys have the Granny's install fest beat hands down. But some of you guys got some practice from it at least. Nice pictures, I'd love to know what the neighbors thought of all the Subie. Garrick did you get a chance to look for my 1/2" to 3/8" reducer?

Z, I found an extra Craftsman 1/2" to 3/8" converter at the meet, but I don't think I have it anymore... plus 25RS is now missing his. I'll double check when I get home.

Garrick, have my 1/2"to 3/8" adapter, I just checked and didn't see any extra pieces in my ratchet kit.

And what happened to your screwdriver anyways? Did you or someelse drop it into Jon's car?

Mark I didn't do anything to my strut tops. I just bolted them to the strut mount. Though after some test drives i did hear a "zip-tie" sounding noise coming from my right front wheel while rolling slowly. After retorquing the lug nuts it seems to have gone away... Anyone else everhave a similar sounding noise coming from their wheel?

Means that in my ratchet kit i don't have any duplicate pieces/sockets/wrenches etc. What else COULD it mean?

Oh, it would've helped if you had inserted an I in between the first two words.

Does anybody have anything to install this weekend? I still have to put the suspension on my Acura after the bolts come in.

I want to finish up my light bar. I have my welder but I dont have a second arm. I attempting to make a removeable bracket to mount a set of Hella driving lights in my lower grill. I could use an extra hand.
