Default Newbie here....Harmon Kardon Question.

Eric from Bakersfield, CA not a permanent CA resident.

Currently i drive a 2008 F350 Diesel dually mileage is horrible for a diesel. I do use it once or twice a year to tow my 40 ft 5th wheel. For a daily driver it's killing me money wise. Might sell it and get a 2015 WRX premium.

If i have to move my fifth wheel that i live in full time i'll either pay someone or get a older gas truck and put some low gears in it.

Is this harmon kardon sound system worth it? I didn't find anything in the audio section. I think i heard a youtube'er complain the navigation feature is not that great?

I would hate to buy a car and have to take door panels off and have them wind up rattling because of it.

Edit: I like the WR blue Pearl but there are not a lot around CA in a premium 6spd with the harmon Kardon.
So i don't know if i should consider other colors?

Welcome to the forum, Eric.

I'm trying to wrap my fragile little mind around what the first half of your post has to do with the second half. You have a dually truck that gets poor gas mileage. You want to know if the Harmon Kardon sound system in the new WRX is a worthwhile upgrade.

What do the two have to do with each other? Are you just giving us a little background about yourself? Its fine if you are. You've confused me, which isn't hard to do.

I want to sell it that's why i'm looking at the WRX. Gonna be totally different driving experience.

I don't care about audio that much. So the upgrade to me wouldn't be worth it. I also have a Pioneer Nav deck in my car, rather than pay for the full Subaru NAV deck.

If you like the blue, you should absolutely not consider other colors. Buy any car that meets the other criteria and then paint it the WRB. Problem solved.

We can't tell you if the HK system is worth it. Is the upgrade worth the $XXX to you? That's a question only you can answer.

Should you consider other colors?? Again, who are we, you? I personally wouldn't be caught dead in a new WRB vehicle. Too overdone. But that's me. I'm not you. at least not last I checked.

I am thoroughly impressed with this man's advanced grasp of the English language.

OP, Loyale and I are definitely you, not. Please to not buy WRB.

Rattling can always be fixed, and probably much cheaper buying your own audio equipment than having a dealer package installed.

Good point. You'll have two things to tow instead of one.

I can drive the car.

Well i hope the work holds out in this area. If Vegas was to pick back up i have a friend there that will tow me up there.

Either way i'll pay someone or a company to move it.

I spent $4,800 on diesel in 2012 and $3,500 in 2013 ......and insurance is more for a 13,000 GVWR truck then a WRX.

There is a lot of money to be saved here.

I will be happy to get $34,000 for the truck buy a WRX premium for $32,000 out the door.

Eventually i will sell the 5th wheel and buy a gas class A motorhome.
No more diesel's for me.
That's the plan anyway.

I'm probably being stupid here, but I'm still confused how you'll manage to have a motor home, that you live in, and will need to drive, and drive the WRX too.

My 3 dogs will drive the WRX.

Flat tow it. You have to buy a tow bar, mount for the Car, auxiliary lights or wire into stock tail lights and a brake servo.

NEVER ask the opinion of a sound system as you'll get answers all over the planet. There are entirely too many audio snobs out there to ever get a yes answer out of any system, even if it is something as badass as this:

does anyone in here even have the hk upgrade? these have been the most retarded answers to such a simple question. if anyone who has actually seen, used, or heard the hk system could weigh in... that would be great.

Wow. And it's not even your thread. If you've really got a question, don't we have an audio specific forum?? Yes, we do!! And you've been around long enough to know that.

Don't know how similar they are but my wife has the HK system in her 2013 Legacy Limited 3.6R and it sounds great!

Same questions, would like someone that has the HK upgrade to make a you tube video or something, but i haven't been able to find a good review yet.

OP I myself did order a WRB 6speed premium with the HK and nav option + the STI exhaust, unfortunately I am waiting for my order to come in.

How long have you been waiting?

Why didn't you just look for a WRB premium and put a different exhaust on later?

Purchasing an aftermarket audio system based on a youtube video which has the fidelity of an announcement made on a grade school PA system through a Batman and Robin walkie talkie with 9 volt batteries that produce the most mild of zaps when performing the tongue test. Not sure if I follow this line of logic.

I have HK system, too bad I didn't see this until now. I agree with the HK, sounds pretty good. Is the HK only offered with Nav? I know you can get upgraded speakers and sub as an option but are those HK? I got Nav, not too bad as everyone said but it works. I like the interface and having an "Amy" voice tell me how to get somewhere isn't bad either.
