Default Unlocking your doors from inside...

This may sound stupid, but in my old car I could lock the doors and then when I wanted to get out, I could just pull the handle (the one on the inside of the door) and the door would unlock and open at the same time.

Is that not an option on these cars? I have to manually flip the switch? There's nothing inside the door that I could poke at to have the door unlock when I pull the handle?

I have a 2015 Subaru Impreza Sport.

It isn't German...

My doors don't auto lock, are you locking yourself in?

Probably safety reasons. My '99 Explorer is does it but I don't think you'll find any late model car that does. Cheap cars with manual door locks might but I haven't had one of those since my '86 Chevy Nova.

My old car (a 2003 Toyota) would do this. Yes, I normally lock myself in. With my Toyota, I would just pull the latch and the door would unlock and open. I was hoping there was a way this car could do the same instead of manually pulling the lock tab or hitting the auto lock/unlock button.

I don't think so, you could try and rig something up I guess, but nothing from the factory for this.
