Question just talk to a dealer about wrx????

hi im new to this board but i just got off the phone with a dealer. He didn't know what he was talking about when it came to wrx. He said they wasn,t getting any intill july. But he said that they was only going to make 1,800 this year and also said they was going to make 2 dr. he said that is what subaru has told him. I though they were making 10,000 and only 4 dr. Is there any truth to that he also said they couldn't onder them they was just getting what subaru sent to them couldn't get a certain color. is he full of it are what.
Thanks
Randy

LOL well lemme ask you this, does it SOUND like that dealer knows what he's talking about? tell him to go to imprezawrx.com and look at the big white numbers in the red circle that says "60 days" lol.....

You know the only question I asked that got through to Mike Weahlen (sp) a rep of SOA during the unveiling chat was "why is there no 2dr model?" He said they opted to only do the 4dr because they didn't sell enough 2dr models

I've heard some retarded dealer stories, but this ire pretty bad.... AFTER everything has been announced he contradicts what SOA has said lol... we all knew there was no 2dr months and months ago....

You shouldn't even have to ask this

thanks for the real truth. I have call 3 different dealers so far. 2 said they wasn't getting any in till june. They said they wasn't shipping till march.. One dealer didn't even know what i was talking about when i said wrx i have to tell him about it then he was like oh yeah i heard something about it. Tennessee dealers sucks. How do i go about getting one if no dealer know anything. I would like to try to preorder one. Also what the deal with yellow as a color i would love to have a yellow car. Thanks Randy

Yeah, i just ordered my wrx silver on saturday, the dealer claimed they didn't have any details, so i told him the msrp off of the website and he wrote it on the order from, saying "i trust you". i think they have all the facts but don't care, this is a dealership in atlanta, ga and they said i'm the only one to call and ask and the first to put money down and order one.if this is true, makes me wonder about how much demand there will be. i guess we all need to buy these so people can see them

Oh no, you havent heard the worst of them. I asked my dealer about the WRX. He looked at me like I had 10 eyes and with a straight face said, "Its the same body as the 2.5RS and the OBS wagon. All it has is a H6 engine, thats all. Its not really that impressive." I said, ok, and I walked. Not that I can afford one, but hey...come on!!

I dicussed it with my dealership here. They knew what it was but have not gotten a lick of info yet on it. They laughed when I said March--they said more like June. So, I need to get out of this lease I'm in now quick!!!

Wow! THank god for this board or I might have actually believed anything Iheard!

I was pissed when I bought my car because the Salesman told me 2000 was the last year of the RS (I bought it in July 2000) and that they only made 2000 per year for three years!

Well I talked to my dealer in Lunenburg, MA and he was really cool. He told me about the url for the new wrx website and he told me to find and fill out the order form. He has 3 on order so far.

Each dealer only gets 1 WRX to begin with. That is so every dealer in the U.S. can have one for the showroom. However, if you place an order specifically for a WRX, this gets added to the dealer's allocation.

This guy (Ted) was really cool. He has a 2.5RS himself. We talked about the merits of adding a turbo to the 2.5l versus buying a WRX etc. He almost went this route himself.

Anyway he also promised not to charge more than MSRP. as of last Saturday, Subaru already had advance orders for 300 WRX cars! He is pretty stoked about the excitement the car is generating.

Well it's true that there aren't many RS's in the states. from production, I think the total is under 10000, and the peak sales was about 5000 cars for the 00 model year. And you can bet most of those were sedans..
