Default Re-badging my Subie

So I'm going to be putting the badging back on the read end of my car. Anyone else know where I'm coming from with that? Honestly, everyone I talked to said everybody takes it off, not puts it back on, but I like the thought of my car wearing her make and model proudly! What are your thoughts folks?

I always thought the badging on the 08+ models was a bit excessive and seemed out of place. There already is a Subaru emblem on the trunk of the sedan models. Why the need to spell out Subaru too? Pick one or the other, LOL.

I agree with you there to some extent. I did get the Subaru lettering also, but yeah it's pretty redundant. I mainly wanted the Impreza WRX badge, but I figured I'd get them both anyway, I like the look of them on the blue body personally.

Do what YOU want. Do what YOU think looks good. It is YOUR car

That being said, good luck with whatever you choose!

After an accident, many body shops will fix cars and not take the time to re badge the vehicle. There are quite a few cars on the road that aren't debadge because they wanted it they way...it is because someone was lazy/cheap.

Damn I never really even thought of that. Hopefully the Carfax reporting was accurate then lol it doesn't look like there was any damage though

Carfax is pretty good but not perfect.

A couple of years ago I went to check out an 05 Audi A8. Being that I have an eye for shape and imperfections, I noticed on the right rear quarter panel some sanding marks coming through the thin coat of paint. Upon changing my viewing angle I could also see the ever so slight (newer loolking) sprayed paint.

A short time later I got on my laptop and looked at the Carfax. It stated nothing about an accident or anything else related to possible damage.

If it wasn't reported to an insurance company it won't be on the carfax.

most likely the previous owner just debadged the car, seeing as how its such a popular thing to do

There are a number of BMWs or Benzes around that have badges removed from the dealer, a-la the factory badge delete options overseas. Not to mention the popularity of removing badges. More rare in the US though, whereas the majority of BMW/Benz in Europe have the badgeless option.

I know what you mean though, I also notice that badges may be replaced but are not put back in the correct spot or not level, you'd be surprised how easy that is to notice if you pay attention to that sort of thing.

My Lexus has def been hit a couple times and the Carfax is perfectly clean. Most bodywork is easy to spot, really hard to replicate original paint.
