Default Radio stations coming in poorly

Hey all,

I have a 17' Premium WRX with the non-navigation OEM radio with the 7" touchscreen. For some reason my stereo has stopped picking up FM radio stations in the last few days, and I am not sure where to start looking to troubleshoot.

I've had my car tinted the other day with ceramic tint, so I don't think that would cause any issues because it was fine on the way home. Is there anything that I should look at that would maybe control power to the antenna? Could it be a blown fuse? It's like 5 degrees outside, so it's not really worth it for me to trial and error troubleshoot, so I was hoping to get some ideas beforehand lol. I don't use the radio a ton, but it would be nice to have it restored back to normal. I've never removed the radio, or done anything inside the car, so I don't think anything would have came loose.

Have you taken your car to the dealer yet? They should be able to help.

Im curious as to what it is, as I this OEM radio has been really bad at picking up radio stations, since day 1. GPS reception has also been really bad and unreliable, to the point of putting me driving on top of a lake.

There were reports of Outbacks having problems related to the cabling going to the antennas.

That's a good idea. Not used to having a warranty, so I didn't even think of that lol. I'll call them today to setup an appointment.

Just an update. The dealership thinks the antenna took a crap, so they ordered a new one. I'll update this once it gets installed and see if it fixes the issue.

Ok, well I figured out the problem. When I brought my car to the dealership it looks like the mechanic was ****ing with the wiring to my switchback C light, and I didn't notice that it was stuck on amber until after I posted yesterday since I posted that from the dealership. So I unplugged the Subispeed DRL harness from the fuse box, and now my radio works perfectly.

Looks like maybe the fuses that came with the harness were allowing too much of a power draw that it was affecting the power to the antenna? Either way I am going to ditch the Subispeed DRL harness and figure out a different way to hookup my switchback C lights.

Default Bad Radio

Mines been replaced twice in 6 months and they damaged the trim so they had to fix that as well.
