Depends. If you live by the adage "we do it right, 'cause we do it twice", then go ahead and reuse them. Otherwise, no.

Who makes the block off plates? Would they be hard to make? I have access to aluminum and stainless steel stock and have some metal working stuff(drill press, grinders, sawzall, gasket material etc).
I'm going to rip all of this stuff out of my car on Tuesday or Wednesday. I have passenger side valve stuck closed code, and it sounds like a PITA to remove the passenger side valve, so I'm debating on if that valve is going to come out or not.
I already have all of the codes disabled via Accessport Race/Stage 2 tune.

FYI a good silicone gasket maker will be more then adequate for a gasket, no need to order new.

They're not hard to make. I used 1/8" steel cause it's what I had. Traced the factory gaskets and reused them. Think it took me about a half hour.

If your engine is in remove the uppipe....I wish I would've....and yeah I pulled the passenger side valvle when I pulled the intake.

CUrrently doing this on my 06 wrx... Drivers side done, all good... Passanger side on the other hand was a bit tricky (I did not take the uppipe off). NOW here is my problem...

How do you snake the pipe out of there!!?? I even cut 4 inches of it off!! I've been working at this portion for a solid hour now and I cant get it to move more than 2 inches either way!!

Help would be fantastic.

Thanks

Sawzall, beer and gloves.

Drink beers, put on gloves, cut the piss out of the pipe, rip it out piece by piece.

That's how I did it, although I did remove the up pipe.

Thats exactly what I ended up doing! haha

I still didnt have to remove the uppipe! Saved me from buying a new gasket...

I don't understand how to delete the codes in accesstuner... If I have a cobb protuned map, I can't tweek anything or load the map onto accesstuner because of "copyrights" how else would I be able to do it? Otherwise, I would be writing over my map and I obviously don't want to do that...

I'm going to see if cobb will delete the codes for me and send the map back..

Dude I'm at the point to where I can't snake the pipe out either and I can't get the up pipe off. My turbine housing is right next to the bolt so I can't fit a socket on the bolt. Is everyone else doing this with a stock turbo? It's definitely not as easy as everyone is saying this is. Lol

You have to use a small wrench... its to the point where if you have more than a 5'' wrench its too long and hits the frame... you have to use a sawsall to get all the piping out if you dont take the uppipe off.

When the codes are tuned out does it leave a "not-ready" status for the emissions check? Trying to read up and see if a resistor will tell the ECU everything is good without messing with fuel.

I have gotten 2-3 emissions stickers since deleting codes on my 06 WRX.

Trying to do this on a 2007 FXT, without removing the uppipe is proving to me more difficult than I thought it would be

Yeah I had to end up removing my downpipe, up pipe, turbo, and some coolant lines but i also didn't cut anything out. The pipe came straight out when I pulled it.

KSTECH makes some and they come with gaskets only around 30-40 bucks My car operates fine.

Finally got my Air pump out about a week ago. Drivers side is super easy to do, but passenger side will make you want to punch a baby.

I ended up just disconnecting the harnesses, and i pulled the driver side valve out. I left the passanger side valve in due to it being impossible to get out without taking the intake manifold out. So i just cut the pipe connected to the head on the passenger side with a dremel and blocked off the head. I wouldn't recommend anyone do the delete unless your valves are bad or stuck open. Luckily i had install my EWG Upipe anyways so i knocked out 2 birds with 1 stone.

But yeah no problems what so ever after i did the delete. I deleted all related codes and everythings going good.

Finished mine over the weekend, like everyone else has stated drivers side was cake. I cut the pipe going to the passenger side in 2 spots and was able to remove it without removing the turbo or uppipe. Atleast I got my downpipe installed during the process.
