no running lights, dash does not dim automatically (still does manually) 04 sti
update- 20 amp in the engine compartment was blown and controlled all that stuff. should have checked engine bay fuses before posting, otherwise will leave post here as a reference for some poor soul that does the same. must have shorted something while plugging in ballast (used the smooth end of a 1' long drill bit cause couldn't reach the jdm bugeye ballasts on my 04/02 bugeye sti swap), didn't think anything of it.
so this is a strange one, my running lights do not turn on even with the switch on the top of the steering column, and my dash lights don't auto dim when i turn on my headlights, and my hvac lights don't light up at all. headlights work fine, brakelights work fine, i hear a relay click when i turn the drl's on (stock to first position) brights and lowbeams work. turn signals work. any idea what it could be or what to look for? i think i plugged an hid ballast in while the car was running (was loose, pulled over pressed it rest of the way on, and sometime after that the dash stopped auto dimming but i don't think it was immediate so might not be related, cant remember for sure. 04 sti checked passenger compartment fuses all are good. it's like the module that controls the running lights and hvac lights (not daytime running lights i don't think, those are always on and optional module right?, or is it just the drl module probably went out and that's causing it. don't know what the drl module would have to do with the hvac lights coming on or not though.
