Does anyone know of a replacement seat for a 2011 STi? I would like to have it recline and even better would be heated. Need the heat for my back..

I can not stand the factory seat.. It's way to big for me might as well have a bench seat that has armor all on it with no seat belts..

Don't put buckets in an uncaged car.

And much more importantly don’t drive a car with a cage on the road without a helmet.

Personally I don’t see the issue of a fixed seat in a road car, as with anything there are advantages and disadvantages with regards to safety. I would feel safer in my current set up than I ever did in the factory seats and belt.

Fact is the factory seat sucks!! It makes noises (squeaks) and it is way to big for me.

I don't want a fixed race seat. I still want it to recline and be able to slide forward and back. I just want it to be smaller or made to fit me better and when I do take it to the track or play on a course I do not want to be sliding all over the front of my dang car..

It's a freaking STi it needs better seat. If I wanted to drive a Buick I would have bought one.

I know I have seen these seats out there just wanted some input on the types.

you cite professional drivers as your inspiration yet you run 4 points, in an uncaged car. Not only that, but your shoulder straps are at a DANGEROUS angle.

These aren't things to **** around with and to look "cool". 4 points are DANGEROUS, your shoulder belt angle is HORRIBLE. ANYONE who rides in your car is in SERIOUS danger.

Thanks for nothing.. Please stop trying to school me in safety. I do drive pretty ok for a girl and believe or not I don't race around in my car. I bet you don't get 23-24 MPG in the city out of your STi much less one that is modified.

Again I only wanted some names and thoughts on the matter not a safety course before being let loos on some race course.

Now that is out I do know there are some very stupid people out there and some of the things they do make one think. I will be moving along now and unsubscribing to this link.

This is becoming the problem with this forum lately is, people wanting to do things like the professional racers do, but don't even research. Then people turn a deaf ear to criticism and advice that regards your safety.

Besides, he quoted the d00d with unsafe harnesses.

You need to re-read my post and the person I quoted. It had nothing to do with you. Your comment makes absolutely 0 sense.

And what I said has nothin to do with how you drive, but someone's poor execution of a safety item that will cause more harm than good.

Safety items like harnesses are not a joke, and if you don't fully understand how these items work you are putting people's lives in jeopardy (such as improper harness installs and usage).

Getting back on topic, anyone with OMP ARS or Recaro Profi/Pole Position please chime in, in regards to comfort, fit, finish, whatever. Also, any feedback on sliders, base bracket alternatives welcome.

Is there a good thread on how to deal with airbags upon installing aftermarket seats?.

Fantastic post thanks for sharing all your knowledge with us?

However sadly you have jumped to way to many conclusions with your post and have ended up looking like another internet bully. Just because you're a weak and insignificant person in day to day life does not give you some kind of authority to be the "big man" on the World Wide Web.

The photos are from the fitting process, and are not fully finish. Since then I have also had my car checked by Roger Clark Motorsport who are a world renowned Subaru specialist and technical partner for many Group N rally teams including Subaru USA.

The debate regarding fixed seats in a car without a cage is a fair point however its not as clear cut as you make out. In a rollover accident you would be trapped in the car however a well fitted bucket seat will offer you much more support in any other accident.

Sorry I have no idea what a dood is?

My advice would be to go talk to a professional track preparation company rather than discussing it with these experts!

The only option is to try them; all of these seats have different fitment and styles. You really need to find the correct seat for your build.

You need to find a shop that'll let you sit in the seats for more than 5 minutes.

5 min isn't enough time to find out if a seat is right for you.

Deal with airbags or get rid of the airbag light?

I live in freaking TN people, I don't have a shop in a 10,000 miles radius...Hence I rely on feedback here. But now that I think about I should look for a Porsche/BMW or the like Autocross event and ask people to let me sit in.

As far as airbags I just want to make sure I am not disabling the frontal airbags by unplugging the seat sensors.

There has to be something in TN. If not find the local NASA or SCCA Club Racing websites and go to one of their events. Should be a nice variety of racing buckets to sit in.

You replace the plug with a 3.3ohm resistor (at least on the Impreza you do, not sure on the forester).

what's your budget exactly??

i've also tried a racetech rt1000 and currently have a cobra suzuka.. the racetech for some reason felt more comfortable even though it had less cushioning.. the suzuka TO ME feels a lot safer, idk why

both retail around 800, both fia certified.. not sure if that means much given some crap seats that are also approved

buy some recaros off an EVO owner. To this day I've not understood why mitusbishi did this but, Subaru never put decent bolstered seats in the car.

You could probably buy some EVO 8/9 recaros in really good shape 600 bucks

EVO X recaros for 8-900 bucks.

just my .02

i dont see why you would need a bucket for a street car. only reason i would run one is if i only put it on for an autox event. OR a car with a cage and a helmet. the stock seat belts are designed for you to fall to the center of the car in case a flip does occur. with a bucket seat you render your stock seatbelts useless, forcing you to use harnesses. since you have a harness you are unable to move as the roof caves in and snaps your neck.

Just my .02 cents ...Momo makes some fixed backed racing seats as well which are FIA certified. I personally use the Momo Super Cup in my DD and it's fairly comfortable. (more comfortable than the stock seats actually )

Let us know which seat you pick w/ some install pictures
