Question Question about vehicle worth

Hello all, I know this is sort of dumb but if you could help me ballpark this I would appreciate it. I haven't been keeping an eye on WRX values for years now and have just been told I will need a new transmission for mine. It runs great, drives great but has a clicking decel noise. I am the second owner having bought it with about 70k on it 6 years ago. In weighing my options I thought I might just sell it 3rd party.

Here are some stats:

2005 WRX, silver. 136k miles, 5 speed. Very new Continental DWS06 tires. Cobb stage 2, v3 Access port included. Grimmspeed uppipe, Stromung divorced shorty downpipe (new), stock cat and catback. Good shape inside/outside with minor chips on the front bumper but a very small patch of rust coming in over the rear quarter panel.

Like I said, I know it is dumb but I would appreciate what you guys think since you are locals. I have started to scour the car for sale section but it seems to vary quite a lot.

Thanks,
Josh

edit - It seems KBB is anywhere from 3500-6000 trade in and private party is above that of course. Now, how much with that transmission the way it is...

With it it need of a new trans youll be lucky to get 1k from a dealer and maybe 2500-3000k at best from private sale. Your best options: part out or fix it up and sell privately. Glws

Thanks for the info guys. It is rough trying to gauge the value if it isn't whole. Maybe I will fix the trans and then sell it in catz4dave's area!

Are you serious, or is this poking fun at everyone who tries to sell a modded Subaru for twice what it's actually worth?

I sold a 140k mile 2005 WRX in 2010 for $7300. If they are selling now, in more abused and rustier condition, for as much or more money I'm dumbfounded. I knew they were holding value pretty well, but that just seems absurd. I sort of want to find another '05 WRX to recreate my old car for the fun of tooling around in the winter, but I wouldn't pay more than $3k for one in really good condition.
