Default Goodbye Pinion Bearing...record for most bizzare things breaking on my RS?

I must have got a car that was slapped together just before it was time for the workers to go home on a friday night.

this pos has more oddball problems.

The woring noise I thought was my rear wheel bearings going, turns out to be the pinion bearing, I had it on my lift at work running it, listening with a stehoscope, so eager to condem the wheels bearings...well the noise is comming from the front of the rear diff, were the drivshaft bolts too (pinion gear), My best guess is a pinion bearing...

gonna try and ride it out till the lease is up, cause I bottom the car going out of my driveway, (not hard) very steep hump, and the diff has scrapes on it, so knowing subaru they wont warranty it...if it blows up then Ill worry about it.

left front wheel has a rotational squeak after the car sits, wich I think is a wheel bearing.

as for other odd problems ive had.

noisey center support bearing for driveshaft, diagnosed by me, dealer couldnt verify, but put a new driveshaft, because I asked them too, noise gone.

passenger front window wouldnt work from the driver side switch, I put new switches in when I use to work for subaru, and it didnt fix the problem, I checked all the wires and harnesses etc..coudlnt find the problem, then quit that job...eventually it was fixed by the dealer I bring my car too, I still dont know what they did to fix it and havent asked, just glad it works..they said switch...but I tried that already so *shrug*

noisey passenger side door lock actuator..

my seat slide cable broke for the passneger seat

my cruise control does not work intermittently, dealer fixed it..but it doenst work again...

bad neutral safety switch.

Ive gotten fuel sender codes, map sensor codes...

I know there is other stuff im forgetting. I loved this car so much when I first got it, and have spared no expence taking car of it. Its let me down big time . Im so glad I leased it now, I just have to ride out the rest of the lease and its time to move on, ive already parted the thing, ill post the vin # here when I dump it, so a fellow iclubber doesnt get stuck with it.

vent off.

try using synthetic rear diff oil for the pinion bearing. and I would tend to agree that bashing the rear diff even lightly would damage the diff. that's why they sell diff gaurds for the Outback's. which you can buy aftermarket for any newer Subaru.

the left front wheel squeak could be your brakes. not that they are going bad, it's just that when the dangers of asbestos became known brake pads came with less asbestos in the material and now squeal more. the fact that it does it when they are cold and maybe have more moisture buildup on the pads leads me to this conclusion. wheel bearings would start making a rubbing sound.

with the other stuff, unfortunetly every car company has there lemons.

hey jay i know what you are going thru.

i've had nothin but oddball problems, both l/s(that's front and rear) axle seals have puked, i have a rattle that could wake the dead in the passenger side a-pillar(been too busy to investigate)...i get this HORRID churning noise while engine braking(sounds like input shaft support bearing to me). My car has the worst feeling shifter linkage, always has. My r/f dome light switch is broken(god only knows how, the door never gets used)...oh yeah get this, last week my guage pod cover cracks....from what?? who knows, the car had been in the sun for a few hours, nothing new, just cracked.

BLEH!

Jaxx shhhhhhhussh!

hehe.

ok so Ive jumped it a few times...the rally car does it, why cant I?

agreed about the diff, but it can handle all that tourque it should be able to handle a scrap on the drivway

and the squeak from the left front I do not think is the brakes, its a rotational squeak, with out my foot on the brakes

jeremy if you get a chance check your sunroof drains and the bolts for the sunroof.
