Talking Recording events laps

I'm not sure if this is in the right area so forgive me, I want to record my lapping events but I have no roll bar to mount my video camera, can anyone recommend any mounting setups. There's nothing like watching other people's so I would like to record my own. thanks

If you have the older wrx seats that use bars for the headrest (not integrated into the seat) are you are handy with tools you can make one for about $20.00 http://eurotuner.com/howto/99762/

You can buy the aluminum tubing and harware at home depot and pick up cheap tripod to canabalized the camera mount from target or similar cheap place.

What I did is remove the plastic covers from the rear kiddie seat mounting tabs on the package shelf, cut a piece of 90 degree angle to proper length and bolt it to the tabs. Get a swivel tripod head mount from your local camera store, drill one hole through the aluminum angle big enough for the camera mount to bolt to.

My materials list was basically...

2-foot 1" aluminum angle from hardware store
2 1/4-20 1" long bolts
2 1/4-20 wingnuts
4 1/4-20 flat washers
4 1/4-20 star-washers
1 5/16 bolt (what's needed for my particular camera mount to attach mount to the bar)

1 drill-bit (for drilling holes to bolt bar-to-tabs)
1 drill-bit (for drilling mounting hole for camera mount-to-angle)
1 hacksaw (to trim angle down to proper width)

This mount is dirt-simple, cheap, strong, quickly removable with the wingnuts (you can transfer it to another WRX/STi in under 5 minutes) and it doesn't vibrate. It's far back enough that you can see all your steering inputs too. The star-washers keep things from moving, you can loop a safety strap around the bar pretty easily.
