Default Idle & tps adjust?

hey all, my 05 Wrx ej205 idles at 500rpms when warm, according to stock tach and v3 access port.

I raised idle rpm to ~750 with the adjustment screw on the throttle body, but the accesport shows throttle position is about 4%.

Do I need to adjust the throttle position sensor? I've had to do that with my old Honda.
Or just set idle rpm and ignore throttle position sensor?

The reason you show 4% is you have opened the throttle. That is NOT an Idle speed screw - that is a throttle plate STOP screw and is adjusted so the throttle plate is all the way closed without sticking in the throttle bore. The Idle is controlled by an idle air control solenoid on the throttle body. Either your IAC is dirty, stuck, defective or you have some other issue like a vacuum leak, bad MAF or something else causing the low idle. Time to diagnose. What are your fuel trims at idle?

Iacv is about 2 months old, genuine subaru.
No vacuum leaks i can find.
Is fuel trim at idle something I can check with accessport?

I'm running an 05 EJ205 also. The EJ that was in it at purchase and the replacement EJ both idle at 500-700 RPMs.

I thought it was normal, until I stopped by my local Subaru Dealership and they told me it was idling low. But they couldn't (or wouldn't) give me any reasoning.

Old engine only had an upgraded TMIC. For the new engine, I added silicone intake, induction hose, ancillary hoses, and intercooler hoses to cut any chances of leaks.

I'm new to Subies but I have been building Nissans and Mazdas for many years, so I'm mostly sure of my work. But I still don't know why or how it's idling low.
