Default Subaru car alarm set off radar detector??

I have a Bel 985 radar detector that is mounted to the mini-visor above the mirror in my '02 WRX. It's hard-wired to the auto-dimming mirror harness and works well. I'm having a strange issue with it though that only happens within a minute of unlocking and starting up the car. At about 20-30 seconds of running time the detector will give a very strong K-band warning that lasts as much as 20-30 seconds and then goes silent. These symptoms do not appear after that until the next time I start the car.

A call to Bel today revealed that they've traced similar behavior to car alarms which complete their full disarming procedure a short while after the car has been started. These instances typically involve a K-band warning.

Have any of you had similar symptoms from your radar detectors?

Get a V1 mine is fine!!!! No serriously, maybe it just has something to do with the freq that the transmitter sends, who knows.

I used to have the same problem in my old Exploder, I had a Uniden (I think) and when I would honk the horn I would get a mad Laser signal, and everyond know how anoying those are. It was kinda cool to freak out my friends though.

Neither my stock keyless entry nor my Viper 790xv would bother my Escort Passport 8500 or SR7.
