Default wrx swap along with manual transmission swap?

what things would i need to convert an auto tranny to a manual tranny (besides the tranmission)? i'm looking into buying a 94L wagon and swapping a wrx motor into it however the L is an automatic.....just curious if it's a super pain to do or not. thanks.

I’m doing this same swap right now…

If you’re going to do it, it would be much easier to swap from an AT to MT while performing the engine swap. This way you can run all the new wiring associated with the MT, and mechanical components while you have the engine and dash removed.

As for parts, you really need to research as you’ll need a lot more than just the transmission:

{off the top of my head}
Rear – diff
Pedal-box
Activation cylinder
Master cylinder
Hard-lines
Rear-axles (possibly)

{wiring from WRX harness}
VSS
Neutral safety switch
Starter interlock relay (MT)
Clutch switch

Good luck…

thanks a bunch. glad to hear other people have done this as well. hopefully all will go well. it'll be odd for awhile not having my rs but when the L wagon has a rex motor in it i'm sure i won't be complaining

You also need an MT driveshaft. I have one that I can sell to you or maybe even trade. PM me if you're interested. Thanks.
