Default AC Compressor replacement question

I have an 03 USDM wrx wagon with a EJ207 swap. I re-used my 03 USDM ac compressor but it appears shot. I was leaking refrigerant, to locate the issue I used UV dye and it sprayed it all over the timing cover and out its sides of the compressor after running with it in the system. It also makes some horrible rattling sounds. This started after its belt snapped a while back. Belt was replaced but it has not been the same.

So the question I had is, are there any new or refurbished alternatives to a full price new OEM that can be trusted. Basic search seems to put an new OEM at 500$~.

Thank you

From what im finding on google, theres plenty. Search "subaru ac compressor ej20" and you should find some new offbrand ones, even OEM ones for less than $200.

My compressor on my 05 has been making some noises lately, but recently developed a very distinct rattle when kicking on and off, after which I discovered this

Similar issue with yours? I'm trying to determine whether to replace the whole thing, or look into DIY repair of that loose plate (clutch?). I do have some tell-tale refrigerant spray behind the compressor on the top right side.
