Q about Spacers and offset?
My wheels are 18x7.5 with a 45mm offset. I am about to put H&R sport springs on and was woundering about rubing. It will lower about 1.8in in the front. If there is rubing could i put a 5mm spacer in to make it a 50mm offset, are does it not work that way.
Help Here is the link to H&R spacers

burnout,
Adding a 5mm spacer would give you 40mm of offset. You were going the wrong way. The spacer would just about guarantee rubbing. Out of curiousity, does your current setup (7.5 width w/ 45mm offset) give you adequate clearance from fender rubbing? Big Sky WRX |

Under extreme turning there is no rubbing
Where exactly would it rub, on the inside fender? |

With a 45mm offset you won't have any problems rubbing on the inside edge of your wheel/tire, if it rubs it will be on the outside edge. That's why a 5mm spacer would only exasperate the potential problem further, as it would "push" your wheel's outside edge 5mm further.
You may be able to offset the rubbing some if it occurs by running more negative camber. This would require camber bolts/plates in the rear as there is no stock adjustment in the rear. Big Sky WRX |

hey burnout?
did you know that most of the time people use the "wheel spacers" for clearance of the brake calipers and the wheels. usually the spacers are for modified brake calipers, or big brake calipers that are bigger than stock, meaning it will hit the inside of the wheels. spacers are to push the wheel out farther meaning the wheel will stick out farther, but more room for the brake calipers. |
