I suggest we go the opposite way on tridelphia for a while, nice country road with plenty of turns. As for a place to take pics, I would suggest a school or something, maybe resivoir(sp) or mount view middle. What about centenial park or cedar lane for pictures. Plenty of parking lot to spread the cars out on. I also think it would be cool to have farther spread out drive, although you picked some fun and interesting roads. So far its sounding really good

The route that applesauce683 looks good, but I know some roads out there as well. Here is something that I had in mind.

01. LEFT: from the dam onto Brighton Dam
02. LEFT: Highland
03. STRAIGHT: Ten Oaks
04. STRAIGHT: Linthicum
05. STRAIGHT: Howard
06. LEFT: Triadelphia
07. RIGHT: Roxbury
08. LEFT: Roxbury
09. LEFT: 97
10. RIGHT: Jennings Chapel
11. LEFT: Jennings Chapel
12. LEFT: Florence
13. LEFT: Florence
14. RIGHT: Long Corner
15. RIGHT: Shaffersville
16. STRAIGHT: Florence (and back to step 12 and go backwards)

This route stays fairly close to the area where the meet is being held. I don't have number on mileage, but I think it's around 50.

I have a radio for myself, as well as a digicam and old school 8mm camcorder..

But, I think we need to discuss this food issue a bit more here.. I have a bunch of hot dogs and buns, and we have chips, pretzels, sodas/cups covered.

Anyone have a cooler to bring? Preferably with ice.

el~sharko: can you bring plates and napkins?

I can get grill tools(tongs/spatula) from my friend, but is anyone bringing charcoal? I haven't been there, but I assume there are grills(I also assume they don't provide charcoal). That should complete a meal, but more would still be nice. We also need plenty of ketchup/mustard for the dogs, and hamburger patties with buns would be good too.

Anyone want to pitch in and bring some? C'mon.. no cheapskates..

Going to try and stop by around 1 or so. Picked up some goodies courtesy of Subaru Southeast Region to hand out. Probably be on a two wheeled rice burner so you will have to cut me a break this time. Had already planned an early morning blast up to Catoctin

There are plenty of grills there. They don't care if you gather in their parkinglot either since your there to use the park.

Ok, then I can cover the cooler too, with ice. I'll pick up some charcoal if a few people are at least willing to fork over $1 or so(I don't feel like buying everything.. )

ok guys, I redid the route a little bit. Here it is, I will bring printouts of it to the meet.

1. Coming out of the park turn right onto Brighton Dam Road
2. Go 1.7 miles turn left onto Highland Road
3. Go 1.0 mile turn left onto Triadelphia Mill Road
4. At 1.7 miles there will be a 90 degree bend to the right, very shortly after the bend turn left back onto Triadelphia Mill Road
5. At 2.1 miles there will be another 90 degree bend to the right, at that point the road turns into Triadelphia Road
6. At 3.4 miles you will encounter a traffic circle, stay straight, go .4 miles and turn left back onto Triadelphia Road
7. Go 4.0 miles turn right onto Route 144
8. Go .9 miles turn left onto Marriottsville Rd.
9. Go 8.6 miles turn right onto Granite Rd.
10. Go 2.3 miles turn right onto Old Court Rd./Woodstock Rd./Route 125
11. Go 3.5 miles turn left onto Route 99
12. Go 2.0 miles turn right onto Bethany Lane
13. Go 1.5 miles turn left onto Frederick Road
14. After 3.2 miles, road turns into Main Street (Old Ellicott City, lots of traffic and people)
15. Go .3 miles turn right onto Mulligans Hill Lane
16. Go a few hundred feet turn right onto St. Paul Street
17. Go .1 mile turn left onto College Ave. (nicknamed Seven Hills, you will see why, lots of people have died on this road)
18. Go 2.0 miles turn left onto Bonnie Branch Road
19. Go .6 miles turn left onto Ilchester Road (very haunted area)
20. Go .2 miles stay left onto River Road (notice the factory on the left, caught fire a month ago)
21. Go .2 miles turn right onto Thistle Road
22. Go 1.0 mile turn right onto Route 144
23. Go 1.0 mile turn right onto Route 166/South Rolling Road
24. Go 1.2 miles turn right into Catonsville Community College

I tried to choose a nice place to end the meet for some pictures and to chill. I hope this route makes everyone happy, I did my best.

Ok lets try to sort out the item bringing here:

awoland: sodas, cups, chips, pretzels
speedwagon: cooler, ice, and charcoal, grill tools
el~sharko: plates and napkins

We still need:
hot dogs
hot dog buns
hamburger patties
hamburger buns
ketchup
mustard

I think everyone should try and bring something since we are gonna have well over 20 guys.

Good meet. The food was good after we got the fire going. The drive was fun as well. Thanks to applesauce for organising the meet and the drive.

I took some pics with my digital camera. I'll post a link within a day or two, if I can remember to upload them to my PC.

It was nice to meet some more devoted subie owners. Definitely some well done cars. Hope to see some of you in Richmond for the Subaru Challenge. Thanks to applesauce for organizing the meet. Hope everyone had a safe ride and sorry I could not join in with my scooter. The VFR sounds pretty wicked with the Micron can instead of the stock exhaust.

Thanks lots to mike for the incredible route planning and everyone who came and even more so to the people who stuck with us the whole way. The people that left us after 70 missed out on some awesome roads, or sorry if we lost some of you. Thanks lots to aaron(sp) and mitchell for contributing so much for food, and the talkabouts, I'm definately gonna buy myself a set. We should definately plan another drive again before summers over.

Yea, that was definetaly an incredible drive. Great roads, and not too far. I think I only used a 1/4 tank on the drive..

I think we should to that again mid august.. like the 17th or so. BBQ and drive again.

And thanx to all those that brought food.. ended up having more than we needed, which is always better than having less.

And yes, we all need the 2way radios for next time. Unfortunetly, the batteries died in mine right away...

Everyone is welcome for the food!

Sorry we didn't stick around after 70... But, the family & I still had a lot to do today.

I have digital pictures that I am uploading right now... After they are uploaded, I will post them in this thread.

I have video too, but I have to edit it, before posting.

With the Driving school (HPDE) @ Virginia International Raceway in August, + the Jones Subaru Meet also in august, + the September Subaru Challenge in Richmond... I don't think I'll be able to make another meet in August... No time
