Default Single AVCS stuck and not equal

Hey guys, I have a 2006 forester XT with a VF39 upgrade and Cobb OTS map. I had gotten a knock on startup a couple months ago and began paying close attention to the noises and performance of my engine. With exception of that one cold start, I have had no issues since.

I noticed a VVT solenoid with oil around the o ring so I replaced both sides with new. Watching the readings from the accessport, no change to the values after change.

Driver side reads +/- 25 and the passenger side reads 6-8. I never looked at this data before the knock so I donít have a baseline.

I have seen that a couple of people have had this issue but did not see the final resolution posted.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Timing belt has maybe 20,000km max.

so I had the same problem with my jdm 207 swap, changed the pullies and it didnt help, come to find out it was the ecu, not saying that is your problem but I would try to source a ecy before I took apart the front of the engine to change the pulleys
