![]() Yeah hadn’t caught up yet when I replied. I’ve never noticed it in my 2.5RS but I’m pretty much always beating the piss out of it so...

![]() This is how I drove my BRZ and the torque dip never really bothered me all that much. If it did catch me offguard I just figured it was my bad and not the car's. It never diminished my joy of driving it, although it's always fun to throw more power at it with bolt-ons.

![]() Is it me, or does it sound like it has fake engine noises during all the ride alongs?
I mean, it had the intake pipe going to the passenger foot well before, but this sounds more like digital phony. |

The BRZ gained it's displacement from increasing the bore: Bore: 86mm -> 94mm Stroke stays the same at 86mm. The K24 gained its displacement from increased stroke compared to the K20: Bore: 86mm -> 87mm Stroke: 86mm -> 99mm There were quite a few reasons that K24Z7 in the 9th gen Civic Si lost its high revving VTEC character:

but then, the videos we've seen of driving are released by the Subaru marketing department. is the audio we hear just a cabin mic? do they digitally enhance the engine audio picked up by the cabin mic? do they have another mic closer to the exhaust to pick up an enhanced sound? is it some random engine noise digitally sampled into the video? as far as the 2.0 and torque dip, with the updated FD in the 2017 and newer it 'feels' like there's usable torque lower in the RPM range. as a result, for city driving I tend to shift below 4k and everyone is happy. when I want to go, I don't shift till 7k. you can easily dance around the dip, as it were. that's not to say that I'm not already anticipating that the 2.4 will become a cheap upgrade for the older car with minimal modifications to make it fit. |

3rd car is tough for us with no space in the driveway, and not sure if my kids can fit in the back, but would love to buy this for my wife to drive instead of having to drive the Ascent to work. |

![]() Hopefully not. IIRC the K24 had a lower redline than the K20 in addition to the increased torque

![]() I seriously shopped the previous gen and there were a bunch of “car seat in the back” reviews. The takeaway was that rear facing seats didn’t really fit but a front facing seat or two was doable with the front seats slid forward. The only issue was getting in the seat - once there it was fine.

My car is fine, as the seating position is completely different and it is a slightly larger car (although still classed "compact"), but I'm fairly confident in saying I could not sit in a BRZ with a rear-facing seat behind me, and I'm not confident my wife could either. |

![]() BRZ isn't for families or for kids to ride in the back, everyone knows this by now.
But it DOES allow for one or two people and a **** LOAD of cargo with that rear seat folded flat! |

![]() I've been on numerous test drives in the back seat of a BRZ and I'm no small guy. Not the best; but, not the worst either.

Nobody is going to daily drive their kid around in a BRZ, but being and to do it in a pinch is a huge plus. Otherwise I'd just buy a Supra, Corvette, Miata, or some other two seat option. |

![]() BRZ should just be a single seat car in base trim. Shave about 150 lbs in the process. Sell a seat package to those who need them. Commuter, college kid, track car...one seat.
