They took a dated look and tried to make it retro with the switches and red digital indications. Again, I thought that was neat 8 years ago; regardless, I still think the current design OK. I'm simply saying that it could be modified to be more modern; you know, like a Mazda 8 years ago.

Did a quick MS paint flip and stretched the middle, i believe the spot on the nose is the corner of a recessed area for plate location...

Looks really good!

This looks like only a subtle change to the front to me. In fact, I like the look of the 2020 headlights more.

It looks good to me. I'm wondering if the Subaru and Toyota versions will have different front ends/fascias like the current twins, and what else will be different between the two.

The BRZ was always the better deal but the worse looker of the twins IMO. I'm eager to see if they retain the "better deal" part and switch to the superior looker as well.

Either way, car will need mo4rPwr if they want me to trade in the evo

I'm willing to downgrade convenience. I'm not willing to downgrade performance. That's a one-way ratchet I'm trying to climb.

I'm kind of excited to see the reveal. I have a feeling it's going to be a looker and it's a matter of finding out if it has at least adequate power this gen.

They're going to need to sell this car for close to a decade again to recoup the cost, plenty of opportunity to buy one.

At launch I preferred the FRS front end, but after a while I came to prefer the more mature look of the BRZ. Even more so with the mid-cycle refresh.

Now that I'm on the east coast again I can kind of see myself in this updated BRZ. Parking it in the city was so amazing. And just getting around these two-lane back roads was easier. But I'm in the same boat as those that feel it should have more usable power. I had fun with what it had, but I prefer to not feel as though I'm just repeating myself. Most likely I'd wait until a tS version.

If great to you means turbo, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

I’m interested to see where this ends up. Used prices on the first gen are frankly stupid high and I’d be fine with another one of those as a weekend driver and occasional track day car. If this is good, it could push the prices down. I have a feeling that it will end up close enough on paper that we are going to end up with used prices staying high because of the more analog feel.

I'm not in the "it needs a turbo" camp. If its close to 200ftlbs of torque regardless of the motor I would be happy with it.

Used prices are indeed insane... Even 2013 models with clean titles and sub 100k miles are selling for $15k still!

No plans" to bring 2021 Subaru BRZ to Europe

Subaru has officially confirmed that the next-gen BRZ sports car will be unveiled on 18 November, but it won't be coming to Europe.

A spokesperson told Autocar that the coupé will be a US-only model and that there are "no plans" to launch it in Europe, as is the case with Nissan's similarly positioned new 400Z.

Europe is the new US. We don't get manual transmissions, we can't have WRX and now STI neither, and now not even a BRZ. Thanks politicians.

Yes. It is a drama over in Europe. The plan of endorsing BEV's means we will end up all driving dull pancakes. 95gram CO2 emission avarage is rubbish. Why can't the earth cool for some decennia by itself for some centidegrees.

So many noises going on it’s hard to really say. I do hear something... is it the bypass valve? Or is it just some weird brake squeal since it looks like they were going into a corner. I also hear a tiny whine like turbo spool, but is that just transmission whine? I dunno.

I don’t think they’d turbo the BRZ, but hey seems like anything is possible this year hah. Just a few more days and we’ll know for sure...

I just heard music instruments and engine growls. Nothing to suggest the taillights have intercoolers in them.

That image for the video has been used to speculate rear-wheel steering. I didn't even know such a thing was even possible or desirable for a RWD car.

Possible? Sure. Desirable? HELL no. Every rear-steer system EVER is always a source of long-term headache and needless complexity.
