Considering towing a dirt bike

I have a ‘14 WRX Hatchback, and I have recently gotten into dirt biking. I need a good way to transport it, and I have seen a few hitch options on etrailer, and I was thinking about getting a small trailer off some local classifieds. Does anyone have any suggestions for this, or know if it’ll even work? I don’t want to excessively beat on the car, and if it will wear it out too much to be towing I don’t want that. I love the car and want to keep it, but if it won’t fit my needs I might have to get a truck, so I am trying to find any way to avoid that.

calculate the weight of the bike and trailer and compare it to the listed towing capacity.

if it's a manual it will be fine
get the lightest trailer possible, dirk bikes are light

keep in mind you could easily have 3 passengers in your car that weigh well over 200 lbs each, that's 6-800 pounds right there

If you have a tow hitch, an aluminum tow hitch carrier is super easy. I transport my YZ250 around on it.

Believe not recommended in NA, but interestingly enough the German specifications list towing capacity without trailer brakes at 1500 lbs and 2600 lbs with trailer brakes. Suspect NA standards are just more conservative.

A buddy of mine runs one of these on his 04 STI and loves it. Easy fix and they only run about $150.
