Default perrin pitch stop mount review

hey guys I just installed the pitch stop mount, and i like it alot.
install is pretty easy just take off the intercooler and remove the 2 14mm bolts on the pitch stop mount
and install the new one!

i like the quality of the perrin mount feels very nice and solid the bushings are very good quality as well.
they also provide some energy suspension bushing lube to which is great!

after the install I haven't noticed any any increase in nvh i was very amazed i was at least expecting some.
say your going from a stop and accelerating fast through 1st 2nd and 3rd gear it feels amazing now where as before it kinda felt sloppy like there was a lot of engine and drive train movement and this perrin mount eliminated that feeling for me.
shifts feel smoother and it feels tighter through all gears definitively reduced movement.
also idk if this was just me or not but when id go to turn the engine off it felt like the engine and drive train moved which was annoying
and that's been completely eliminated

i got this mount for 109 and i can completely 100% reccomend this mod i love its amazing and its so cheap. defiantly worth the money
heres some pics enjoy!

Looks good, I wish I had waited on theirs, I bought the Torqued Performance one about a month too early...

Man that's kinda expensive. My friends make custom ones for about half the price.

You really can't tell a difference in NVH? There is a definite increase in NVH with mine because my wife complains about it all the time. I just crank up the music. Then again, I also replaced the front/rear shifter bushings, trans. crossmember bushings, trans. mount too.

She'll get used to it. Mine did.. but she did wonder when I was going to stop modding my car.. and my response was "Never - can I borrow $1000 bucks for a new turbo?"

Lol... I told my wife even if I had a $1mil+ car, I'd still be modding it. And her favorite line of mine is "I'll totally be OK with showering at the Y and sleeping in a refrigerator cardboard box if I can drive a Ferrari every day." Man... she is just going to "LOVE" the exhaust when that gets in. haha

I've got one on my car now. It's not a lot of extra NVH but it's noticeable. I think the most noticeable increase would be in first and second gear you hear the whine more. But the car feels great with it in. Noticeable improvement while driving.

Default Perrin Pitch Stop Mount

Bumping this thread instead of creating an entirely new thread.

I installed this part Wednesday. Most say that its not that great of an upgrade. I would say that it is a pretty good upgrade having now installed one. Directions were simple, took about 30 min to install although I was doing some other stuff while installing this. I have noticed very little NVH if any at all. My car is an 04 STi with 76k miles so its well broken in and most of the creeks, rattles and unwanted noises are already present. I was hoping this product would do exactly what it described and it does. While letting out the clutch at times it seemed as if the drive train was jerking back and fourth...not overly so but enough that while letting out the clutch the feel of the car taking off seemed inconsistent because of the movement. When downshifting you'd feel some movement as well at times. I don't launch or race my car...but just during daily driving this was annoying and made smooth take-offs inconsistent...I would definitely say its made the clutch feel and drive-train movement more consistent and therefore resulted in smoother clutch control...its making me wonder if other mounts like the transmission mount are worth performing on a DD. Overall I am happy.

Default Second that

I just installed this. Took no time at all, plus I got it used off a member here.

It does everything stated above.

There is nearly no additional NVH

If anything by firming up the drivetrain the jerkiness (harshness) and vibration are reduced

Quick review - i purchased this new, very solid and seems quality. It took me about 1 beer to install and it is very worth it in my opinion. Now i have an automatic (4eat) and it was rattling once in reverse and 1st. Now the rattle is completely gone and the shifts are very smooth. Great product for $100ish.

So I installed this just before I got tuned with a lot of other goodies on the engine. But the first thing I noticed with the stutter I can feel in the clutch peddle. I can literally feel every little bit of movement through the peddle...is this normal? No one else has said this and I am beginning to worry. haha.

Jilty,

That isn't normal. It is normal to feel more vibration from the engine, but you should double check to make sure that there isn't any contact from the pitch stop to the engine, and that all the bolts are tight. What other mods did you do to the engine, keep us updated, thanks!

Installed pitchstop recently, no noticeable difference when shifting. Although I just tightened it by hand without torque wrench. I am assuming the higher those bolts are torqued the less play the engine has. Wondering if anyone who had noticeable differences torqued those bolts to spec?

I recently helped a friend install one his 05 Legacy GT, his OE pitch stop was very loose and needed to be replaced badly. It would chatter and make noise against the firewall on takeoff and changing gears. After the install it made all the difference in his case. According to the instructions included with it the front bolt is to be tightened to 37ft-lbs and the rear bolt to 43ft-lbs which I did. Made takeoff and shifts way better. I plan on installing one on my 04 WRX.
