Default The Si Mugen Civic is the worst value ever!

MSRP for a basic one is around $31K for a 200hp FWD CIVIC...

If it was $25, I could see that it would be worth it for the hardcore civic guys...

Hell, higher end civics are just a plain out ripoff... I remember when they used to be budget car price

But yeah, the Mugen Civic Si is a ripoff x 1000

Yeah, the new STi is a rip too, but at least you get WAAAAAAAY more out of the subie than you do out of the damn civic, and even the subie is expensive now...

It's just a suspension upgrade and body kit, right?

$31k... that's about what an EVO goes for, right?

I don't get it either.

Mugen anything is insanely overpriced. That's the price you pay to be a JDM fanboi, though.

Yeah? What's your point? JDM fanbois pay anything... doesn't make them smart value buyers.

The EVO DESTROYS that Si in every single element and then laps it and rapes it again for fun.

You're an idiot for thinking it's a good value Just like always, you = idiot.

<shrugs> How is this different from a Mini Cooper S? Which is a more of a direct competitor to the Mugen than an STI or Evo. Customizing an MCS the way you want it can cost way more than $31,000.

It's about style and exclusivity. Horspower ratings aren't everything.

You mean the JCW Mini, right?

Yeah, same thing I guess, though with the JCW you actually get improved performance along with the looks. IIRC the USDM Mugen Civic was no faster around a track than a standard $21k Civic Si. $10k for... a body kit? No thanks.

And who in their right mind says to themselves "I need something stylish and exclusive... hmm... I'm gonna head down to my Honda dealer! Hondas are super exclusive, nobody has those!"

At least the mini is a quality car! But yeah, I do agree that it is a ripoff too, just not as much as the civic.

IIRC someone on 8thcivic.com got one otd for $27k, still expensive and I won't buy one. I might get a SI sedan, for it has decent mpg (29+ hwy mpg) and it turns! (Tracked one, its LSD works very well, very little understeer.)

Wait what?

How is the mini such quality over the civic? Have you been in a new civic lately? They are alot different than they used to be.

Id much rather pay 31k for a civic than for a mini. Not that I would pay over 20k or so for either but still....
