Default 2006 WRX TR interior swap into 2002

w00t! I've got myself a full 06 TR interior in the car now, halfway...

some notes on the swap:
u need to swap the plugs for the window switches on both cars to make it work properly.

you need to swap the handle brackets between both cars

you also need to swap the rear tabs at the top of the rear doors where the plastic screw attaches.

Mirror adjustment on the 06 will be tricky, I have yet to figure that one out I think I'm going to have to bust out the wiring giagram, anyone got the link?

WHY? I have a TR, and the seats SUCK, the bugeye seats are way better!

Did you do the console too? That would seem like the only worthwhile thing, unless your bugeye was just trashed inside.

Ok to make this work I had to swap the window control plugs from the 06 into my 02. Not hard at all.

I'm enjoying the new look, it's like a new car!

Hmm... I guess it looks pretty good. I've never sat in a TR so I can't comment on how they feel/driving comfort... All I know is that I love my 02 seats How did you get your hands on a TR interior anyways?

But none the less great job! I bet you're one of the very firsts to put TR seats in an '02!

No need to, I've still got the control in the center console!

EDIT, I forgot about the guy with the 06... he didn't mind not having mirror controls... set it and forget it

My 02 seats needed a back support for me. I'm not running it with these seats. I like the safety factor of the headrests that actually work, the stock 2002 headrests will allow whiplash if hit from behind.

I got them on a 3 way swap...06 TR into mine, mine into an 02 going back to stock, and from that 02 came a set of STi seats to go back into the 06 TR...

Well, it doesn't look too bad. Props for going through with it, it is a bit of work. I just swapped my TR inteior for an STi, and that was fun.

The bugeye seats and TR seats are the SAME except for the color and the shape of the headrests. The TR seats have better whiplash protection as a result. Bother otherwise, same seat frame, same seat cushions.

That's cool man. I love the idea of putting in a new interior. I bet it's a lot nicer than the slightly worn out original.

Plus it makes your car very unique in a totally subtle way. If you can't tell I love the OE mods.
