Default 98+ dash/interior swap into older impreza?

Has anyone ever swapped the dash, door panels, and other bits from a 98-01 impreza into an older (93-97) impreza? Is it even possible? Does the wiring match up? How about the mounting points for the dash? It'd be interesting to see if it's happened.

but what i'm really interested in is swapping a late model GC's interior into an early model GC. Basically 98-01 interior into 93-97 GC. Was considering picking up an old 94 wagon for cheap and using it for a daily commuter car to keep the miles low on the RS. thought it might be fun to go junkyarding for a new interior, though.

I don't see why it would be terribly tough, the cars are exactly the same throughout the years. If you have a full intereior it should go right in without too much of a hitch. Don't hold me to this but I just don't think personally that it will be the most extravagently hard mod there is to do.
