That sir, is an impressive catalog of a beautiful car and swap. I will be using this in part to complete my swap of an '03 EJ205 into my '98 2.5RS. I already have a question though... I dont need my car to appear stock for the wiring and I as wondering if I need to splice the two harnesses at all? I mean I have the car gutted already, and plan on making it mostly a track car. So do I need to use the stock RS harness at all? Thank you in advance, you are quite an artist, and I look forward to your response.

Ok so I have a question. I have a 04 wrx shell with nothing but seats a arms and brakes and all the ineterior whiz. Basically its missing the complete driveterrain, it needs diff, driveshaft, tranny, motor, and axles. I also have a 1993 impreza. I got the wrx shell free from a friend, what would I need to convert all my ****ty 1.8 driveterrain into the wrx? I might get a wrx motor and just use the tranny back for now but..........?? Anything?

My 03 ej205 is mated to a 98 rs 4eat, but that's ALOT better than 93 stuff, and I'm having the VB modified too

Thanks!

This was actually my first swap I have ever done. My brother helped me a decent amount as he was directly involved with rebuilding and doing general services on cars at the time.

I do nothing related to anything automotive. I'm a chemical engineer.

Default My 2000 2.5 RS coupe engine exploded 3 days ago on the highway...

Folks,

i always dreamt of swapping the engine on my 2000 NA 2.5 RS coupe to turbo one, it was too expensive to put turbo on it, now it exploded - pistols shot through the block - Now i have no choice

Im in NYC... where can i get a complete Engine+ECU ej20t? My mechanic would prolly do it, but im open for anything at this point...

any idea? where to get used but alive ej20t? and how much it will run me? with/without work?

I have an 00 RS that I'm swapping for an EJ257 with all the other parts. Mind me asking how long this took you and how much $, roughly?

I've read a bit of the thread and great write up. I'm looking for a quick clarification though. I would love to do a full GD preferred 07 suspension swap so it will be easier to find after market parts than trying to find ones for my GF wagon. Do I need to get a wrecked 02+ impreza and swap over everything to get the parts to buy after market suspension or can I just buy stuff online that says it will fit an 02+ and have it bolt onto the GF Ie Coil Overs?

I'm still new to subaru so I want to make my game plan and start saving. I would love to get 08+ STI drive train and suspension but I don't believe anything but the drive train will fit. If some one can tell me if I can just get after market suspension, brakes etc. GD parts and have them bolt on to my GF with no modification that would be awesome

Yes, parts made for an 07 will fit a gc/gf. But make sure they're gg,not gd as wagon and sedan strutsare different.

Awesome. So if I wanted to get these http://shop.sdmotorworks.com/Apexi-S...s-268AF010.htm which are said to fit wagon and sedan they will fit my 01 gf wagon? That is awesome and saves a crap ton of searching. Are there any suspension parts that will not my gf?

From what I remember the strut mounting is identical however the lateral links are not; the 02-07 sedan's are slightly wider. If you use your lateral links but everything else 02-07 then you'll be fine.

They are useless. They are only good for 3-4 weeks out of the year. Mainly the time when the snow melts and you get that light dirty mist. They will not blast off bugs.

Default secong gen legacy- 02 wrx swap

this thread is awsome, I am about to start a swap into my 5 spd legacy with most of the work happening next may. I found a garage to supply me with everything i need, but the one man said i just take my harness out and use the complete wrx harness? I would splice the rear lights and stuff like that but he said i put in wrx instrument panel and it should all be plug and play? Im alittle sketchy of doing this because i read up on how much splicing/merging neeeds to happen.
