what all did you have to do to get those jeep rims to fit the outback? Also is there any rubbing when you turn?

I put a few things on. A Jackson rally lift kit, 06 forester xt struts and springs. And a 25mm wheel adapter. And it was just a test fit. I haven't drove it around yet

Interesting. My Stock Jeep wheels are +32 offset and Subarus are ~+50. Add 25mm adapter to +32 wheel and you get effective offset of +7, a far cry from +50. That's going to make for some interesting handling characteristics.

Perhaps you should get some proper rally rims

the jeep wheels are 5x114, think most car shops sell hub centric adapters, probably there are some on ebay.

The wheels on my Jeep are Subaru, for an STi. We had custom adapters made that were hubcentric for both the Jeep 71.6 and the wheels 56.1. The problem is you need a lot of thickness to accomodate the nuts that bolt the adapter to the car so the adapter ends up being a significant spacer as well. In our case +49mm wheels and a 35mm spacer results in an effective offset of +14 which is 18mm further out than stock Jeep wheels and just what we wanted.

Please dont tease me about the braid. I REALLY want them. but i are broke

Nope they are ebay specials so non-hubcentric. Soon I will pay triple the money and get the ichiba ones, and the jeep hubs are 5x4.5 orrrr 3mm off 5x114.3

No teasing. Look, I didn't even quote the picture . (however thay are 10% off right now, apparantly)

So how much are those Ichiba spacers? Perhaps I can get you some custom ones instead.

Not sure what you mean by".....orrrr 3mm off 5x114.3". 5x4.5 is 114.3 exactly. Please explain.

Actually, not trying to be a pain in the arse but to prevent confusion; many Jeeps use 5x5" or 5x127. Just the smaller or older Jeeps use 5x4.5".

OH really? My bad. I thought it was 3mm off, well nevermind then. Yea from what i know ichibas are about 140 for a pair of spacers, but i dont know about the adapters. And they are the only company that makes em. If you know any others that would be great. If one could match ebay prices for 115 bucks for 4 i would be interested.
Oh and sign me up for some winrace ta's mmmm nice.

If you really do want some new wheels and you really do want that kind of offset perhaps you should consider some Subaru bolt pattern and hub bore BRAIDS with the extreme offset. Got to be better than running huge spacers or adapters right? They make them to order from +9 to +60.

i miss taking my fozzie into the woods when it was stock

since then, the car got slammed on coilovers with a new turbo and all that fun stuff, and is my daily/autocross warrior

once i get a new job (and more money), ill be looking for either an older SF chassis forester, or GF chassis impreza/obs to lift on my stock fozzie suspension and get some nice meaty 205/70/15 tires on. to use it as a daily/woods/snow car. i have a 98 LGT block sitting at work, so maybe itll go together with some 2.2 heads for a higher compression set up? hmm

heres a little video too, sorry its crappy but we only had a point and shoot on hand..

anddd how she is now, with the winter set up.. same wheels and tires hahah

That's so sick, but those have to rub so hard when you're weighted down. This is why I kept the stock 205 width and went with 205/75/15's...

Looks good. I think some of my suspension is on the way out and the only logical route to go for me is a forester setup to go with my FXT tranny and I also have a FXT subframe that would raise it up a little more. Hoping nothing goes wrong soon but a lift may be in the future.

Anybody know if 215/60/17s would fit under an 05 STI with forester springs and some mild fender rolling? Tire rack shows they're 27.1" in dia, but I'm worried about the width.
Maybe they'd fit with an extra spacer? Thats the smallest 17" AT type tire i've found (Geolander ATS)

I can fit a tire slightly larger with 5mm spacers under my wagon fenders. Since you're fenders are wider, I'm pretty sure you'll be alright. As far as rubbing under full compression or high speed articulation, i'm not sure.

But will the STi struts even be long enough to take advantage of the full FXT springs?
