Help - how to adjust rear camber??? WRX
Finished the suspension install with the KYB adjustable struts and H & R 1.5" lowering springs - - took it to Ferrari racing mechanic to set sport alignment settings - he says my rear camber is too high - 3 degress
Does anyone know if there are any rear camber plates or other products so I can take out some camber from the rear ??? Thanks

hmm not so sure on the WRX but for the RS/other impreza you can order aftermarket camber bolts... most alignment shops carry them..
see link http://www.ingallseng.com/parts/3542.htm |

There is some slop in the bolts that hold the strut to the spindle. Some people, myself included, have been able to get an extra little bit (probably no more than a degree) of camber back there.
If you want to experiment, loosen the two bolts that hold the strut to the spindle, and literally push the top of the spindle towards the other side of the car, while pulling the bottom of the spindle in the opposite direction, and while holding the spindle in place, have a friend tighten the bolts to where they will hold the spindle. Then torque the bolts down to spec and go get an alignment - Get the alignment guy to even out the rear camber (set the wheel with more camber down to even with the wheel with less camber - I doubt seriously that you would end up with exactly the same amount of camber on both sides using the previously described procedure). Once aligned, you know the maximum amount of camber you can run without resorting to aftermarket eccentrics or other means... |

My rear camber is 3 degrees off - so it looks like I need more than to just play with the spindle bolts - but I really appreciate your help and thoughts - I think that I need some camber plates or bolts . . . .

camber
a slick and easy alignment trick is to either replace your upper strut mount bolts with a one size smaller bolt or slot the upper hole in the strut housing. i've done it to my 00 rs and with my intrax springs at 1.8 lower in the rear and 1.5" lower in front i've been able to set the camber to 1/2 degree all the way around for alot less tire wear. e-me if you have any questions.
