Amplifier Issue *please read*
I have an Alpine CDA-9847 and i jsut bought an Alpine MRPT-100 amp. and i hooked the amp up to the yellow(battery) wire and the blue/white (remote) wire coming out of the head unit for the remote and pwer connections on the amp. Then i jsut sanded some paint off in the truck drilled a hole in it and put my ground wire there. But when the car sits for a long time (4 hours or more) without it running, then when i put my faceplate on the amp and head unit jsut blink on for less than a second and turn off and repets that for about 10 mins then it will finally turn on. This happen to anyone else? Any ideas?

the amp is drawing too much current. you should always run the power wire for the amp directly to the battery using a fused wire. you probably could get away with it being powered off of the 12v wire in the ignition harness because it is a small amp. but the best way is direct to the battery.
you have the remote turn on and the ground part right. you just need a suitable power source for the amp |

not to be an ass, but why would you hook up constant to the battery off the radio?

i dont know cuz it was easyist, cuz i have my wireharness back there connect to the radio with wire nuts, so i can just take the wire nut off add the other cord and put it back on. Ive never done this before so i thought that it would work, but aperently not.
