I found this place online that sells the material by the yard. It looks like you can get away with 4 yards, and just do it yourself.

Hey man, I just did my headliner with black alcantara and actually used riggsbros too. Alcantara should run you no more than $120 a yard and 2 yards were used on my 2005 sti headliner. Also, riggsbros did the installation for $150 and I wouldn't go back. I got quoted at $75 but they ended up charging me more and took over a week to get it back. Other shops told me it can be done in 1 hour max. Also, they took the top fabric off the headliner before applying the alcantara which caused the middle layer to come off the plastic making certain parts look not as clean as I wanted. So long story short, get the quote in writing if you go there and make sure to tell them just to apply the alcantara on the stock fabric.

Most that I've seen have gone with a polyester suede look alike. Alcantara is going to be a lot higher quality than you will need for something like that. I know I've seen a DIY around somewhere...3M makes a spray on glue that works well afaik.

My brother picked up some stuff at Michael's fabric store along with a can of 3m adhesive. He wrapped his a-pillars and it came out nice. After two years it faded a little in the Texas sun but I'm betting the headliner wouldn't have that problem.
You could try Autowerks in Northbrook also. They do nice work and could your steering wheel too. |

If you diy, make sure you get the right 3m adhesive. There are two different kinds, one being much stronger. There is much more info on doing this in the interior diy section.

The nice thing about the poly blend is that they make a type that is resistant to sun fading and Lao stretches easier. I'm not certain how suede will work, I've just heard of more guys using this for that purpose.
