Default High Plains Raceway track days?

Anyone been to a track day out here? http://highplainsraceway.com/ I'm thinking of going as its a nice safe place to stretch the subies legs. Wondering if its worth it while my winter tire setup is on tho. Any interest for doing a group meet sometime?

You'll probably want to wait until your winter setup is off. HPR is a great track but it'll eat up your tires.

We raced a LeMons car out there this past year and I've been out there for a few other events. Awesome track. I'd be down for a group meet this summer at one of their open track days.

HPR is an awesome layout. went there a few years ago. super fun to run.

However, the curbs are pretty small and there is almost nothing in terms of run off, but weeds and dirt for the most part. but i still highly recommend going.

I know this thread is old, but in case anyone finds it by searching...

I did a NASA track weekend at HPR last year in my '11 WRX. It's somewhat comparable to the original Thunderhill in CA: built for amateurs, which is a good thing. No scary walls like Sonoma, good visibility and sufficient runoff. Each corner is sort of designed to teach something. Not as interesting as Laguna, but NASA did a great job and in more advanced groups starts introducing group starts, and wheel to wheel safely. Recommended.

Anyone's first track day, you can run totally stock even with A/S. I'd change out snow tires though.
