Default 2006 WRX halogen low beam to HID conversion (or retrofit)

After a week of research (and search) I'm finally ready to ask questions and start working on the OEM low beams that absolutely suck.

I purchased some PIAA fog lights in hopes that it would compensate the low beam output (along with excellent lighting in fog/rain/snow) but I'm starting to think it won't be enough.

So, let's start here:

I've read these threads/sites in depth:

1- You can safely assume I know what I'm doing.

2- You can safely assume I understand how the optics of halogen and HID lights work, along with their electrical requirements.

3- You can safely assume my DIY skills are expert level.

My questions are:

1- Does anyone know if the h7 to d2s adapters ($10) place the hid bulb in an "acceptable" spot inside the 2006 OEM projector?

2- Are the OEM projectors decent? (How would you rate them 1-10?)

3- Is the Morimoto Evo-X 2.0 a quality light?
https://www.lightwerkz.net/index.php...-evoxr-v2.html

4- Does anyone know if these components are good quality? Or are they Chinese? Any experience?

5- Does anyone have any experience with an aftermarket whole light assembly?
https://www.protuninglab.com/hid-pro...d=140850936778

I can imagine the bulbs/ballasts are cheap, but I'm wondering if the low beam projector is of decent quality.

Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated since I've read dozens of bug eye/blob eye retrofits but not much on hawkeye.
