Default Temp Gauge spiked / fuel gauge empty / dash light fuse popping

Hey guys, i just did a motor swap of my 93 gc8, has the ej20g. after it sitting for 2 years i got it running pretty well actually. But i have a couple electrical issues. im not very good with electrical but i did find one post in another forum about the same issue i am having (link below) my fuel gauge reads empty and my temp gauge spikes a minute or two after idle when its still cold.

one more issue i think i can figure out is my dash lights keep popping the 10a fuse but i think it should be the little illumination wire for the stereo wiring. I dont have a stereo in it so should be easy to check.

Here is the link, if anyone has any idea where to start on this that would be good!

also i do have a CEL but i think its due to my o2 sensor. I havent checked the codes yet though.

I'm still trying to hunt down this dash illumination issue.. can anyone chime in? Where can I start? The dash lights were working before I installed my motor, now nothing. Keeps popping the fuse.

As for my temp gauge, j believe it is a faulty temp sensor which I ordered so should fix my problem.

Also the codes I have I'm trying to figure out..

The short problem could be due to a short to one of the running lights or license plate lights. To help find the trouble you could wire up a brake light bulb and place it in the fuse position. That will limit the current to the short to a safe level since the brake light is in series with the wiring to the short. Then disconnect connections to the dash and running lights one at a time while watching the brake light bulb. When it goes dim then that connection ties to the circuit with the problem.

Check if all ground wires are grounded. I did a transmission swap and car ran perfect for couple months then my fuel drops empty, temp spikes and sometimes my engine won't turn over (not even click). All of a sudden electrical problems. Turns out I didn't connect that extra grounding wire that goes on the starter motor. Been hanging and not ground for months. After that, everything is good.
