Default 2015 HVAC Issues

I have a 2015 WRX with about 52k miles on it. Recently, on random warm days here in Cleveland, Iíve been hearing a hissing sound coming from the HVAC. The only way to make it go away is by pushing the AC button to turn it off. Today it is about 70 degrees here. I cranked the AC all the way and it wasnít blowing very cold. Through the last three summers it has been just fine, with the exception of it not wanting to blow cold air under an engine load. Does this sound like it needs a recharge or is my compressor toast?

Cheap and easy is a recharge. Hissing can be many things.
I am not a HVAC expert, so take info for what it's worth.

One issue is peeps not cycling the AC per the owners manual, usually once a month.
Front defrost usually covers that.
