Default 2002 WRX exhaust

hey everybody..

i'm gonna get an exhaust/muffler for my 2002 WRX, do u have any suggestions on which would be the best performance for my car. thanks for ur time.

I thought the WRX was a TURBO powertrain. EH?

I have a Kakimoto R setup 80mm. Very quiet but rumbly at idle/off idle. I love it. They also have the ultra lightweight GT1 OZ model which is N1 type. THere are other systems available as well like Apexi and Blitz. THere are some companies in UK and Aus that also make them although I know very little about the Australian and UK ones. Blitz and Kakimoto R setups are full stainless as is the Apexi Hayabusa but bear in mind any of the JDM exhausts will be too long and you will have to do a little cutting and welding. I removed my 3rd cat to install my Kakimoto. Took all of 20 minutes to alter the exhaust though. Pretty easy. Any muffler shop will be able to do it for you no problem.

Do a search for Cobb, BPM, Stromung, or just "WRX exhaust." A veritable cornucopia of opinions are at your fingertips. I went with Cobb.

If your looking at a turbo back system, the Brullen seems to be the way to go right now, as there have been no problems with fitment or bungs ie: BPM. If your looking to go with something JDM, I would recommened the Kakimoto (makers of the STI exhaust) or SARD. I run the SARD MIG-R system, and as God had to do, we took 4 inches off before the first flange, reversed two hangers and went on our marry way.

I am very happy with my Prodrive WR Sport Exhaust. It's an axel back all SS exhaust and cost me $460.
