Am I mistaken or were we planning on getting together this weekend to work on our rides?

Let's get an install day planned for when people are going to be around, July 23rd? July 30th?

Default Silence

Figured out my grinding noise issue.
I was originally going to buy new rotors and opted for the H6 rotor & bracket upgrade to see if the rotors were the root of the noise issue.

With new rotors and brackets installed, the grinding noise was worse than before and now would happen going left also.

Found this rub on the bottom of the backing plate on both corners.

Researched and found an old post about trimming, which I did.

H6 components re installed and now quiet as a church-mouse with a TBE!

We had seen that when doing your bearing, going to have to look at mine. I am wondering if that is an Iowa corrosion issue.

I've got a tiiiiny little noise coming from the front that changes when I tweak the steering wheel. Probably wheel bearing. Any idea how long these will run once they start making noise? I've gotta drive a few hundred miles this weekend

Wheel bearings are un predictable... kinda like cracked serpentine belts. I ran my worn out wheel bearings for about 7000-8000(Which is only like 3 months for me, but I wouldnt advise this) before I couldn't take the incessant drone anymore.

Rob, are your rear rotors stock? In further research I found that most aftermarket blanks including non vented Brembos have a raised lip that the oem's dont have. This lip is what contacts the backing plate.

It actually takes longer to take the tires, calipers and rotors off then it does to do the fix.

Next time I see you I have a bearing race and seal driver kit to give you for your help.

Not sure if my brakes are stock, they came off of the swap car. They are not discoloring lke my last set, they very well could be aftermarket. And they are holding up very well to the autocrossing also, no brake fade so far that I can feel. And I thank you for the tools, this will help everybody in the club.

Sigh...more things just keep happening. I have rough idle and only am reaching 0.5 bar for boost in each gear. CEL is on for P0108. It's a bad MAP sensor. Gotta get that replaced ASAP.

Oh Subaru...how much longer can I keep putting up with you?

Unless you have an '08+ STI, then it's: Stay stock, blow the engine.
