broken ring tangs. and incorrectly sized oil ring. hence the scoring on the bores. notice the machined block and bores. the block was salvageable after all
gap. tom's wiesco rep couldn't help but laugh when he told her what the ring gap was it just keeps getting better and better.

Bump for info on what action seller has taken to rectify this, and when last contact was.
Waiting on shipment of a block from Sdmideas, been out of contact for 9 days, over a week since block was supposed to ship out. Seller has dealt with prior issues with me with honor (based on what I'm being told), hoping that some good news will filter through here....... |

But I am sick to death of people talking about "multiple members" every time something goes sideways. Suddenly there are these phantom supporters whom I never hear from who totally agree with you! He has 7 positive ITrader feedback and your 1 negative. I want to believe you, but I look at him and wonder if this is REALLY a scammer...? Again, not to judge you as a person, but you have a single ITrader feedback and about 100 posts on this forum. The seller has more feedback and 700+ posts... It seems highly odd that he'd just start blatantly scamming all of a sudden. That's not usually how this works. The scammers we see here tend to join and get to scamming QUICKLY. So yeah. You're all just text on a screen to us. The forum is provided as a meeting place for communication, but we can't "protect" buyers or sellers one bit. We provide YOU with the tools to research and protect yourselves, and if that fails there's the police and Paypal to help you out. I say outright in Sticky threads that a seller should post pictures of the items for sale... and if you as a buyer don't see those posted, DON'T BUY. |

In terms of this case... I don't want to lock the thread since you guys are posting and updating it. If I ban the user, then that doesn't solve anything. I'm pretty much stuck here, I don't know what you expect me to do now.

Sending the seller a physical letter in case of some personal emergency as a last ditch effort on my part before entering the claim process.
He hasn't been active on here since 3/28 and my final contact with him was via text and phone call on 4/8, long block was supposedly shipping to me by end of the first week of April. |

I wouldn't say hes a scammer..... more of a novice or beginner engine builder! I would NEVER buy an engine from someone who does not have a good reputation on the forum in which hes listing parts.
As for his trade secrets, ummm I guess not knowing what you are doing is a secret?? Clearly he does not know, or does not care at all. The pictures of this block and findings are horrifying! Sorry to see people get screwed like this, good thing you didn't just drop it in. Most of the members here are not as knowledgeable as you were sir. Id be willing to bet 90% of them would have just dropped it in and it would have obviously failed. Then this seller would have blamed it on the buyer some how, because he thinks hes a pro with his "trade secrets" and all. |

don't judge mu post count. judge the pictures. and the above poster's feedback. and the two other people who contacted me about buying something from him. want their screennames? i am not blowing smoke up your ass. you won'd do a damn thing, just like paypal. and i understand you have a lot of stuff to deal with, but you're still allowing people to be scammed by this prick. do something about it. i did my research. i looked through his posts. he seemed to have a clear indication of what to do. he does not. and he is misrepresenting himself and lying to paypal and everyone else about it. i paid for a professionally built motor, and what did i get? next time i buy something, i will be sure to have fluffed my post count and itrader feedback to appease the moderators in situations such as this |

Mailing a letter to his shops location in Chico, CA today. He has not contacted me again.
It is clear that he is NOT practicing fair or just business, and if any members know him or are local, feel free to remind him that the community is well aware of what's going on. |
