Default Ej251 or ej22t

So, the engine in my 2001 Impreza RS decided to kick the bucket and throw a rod, I just want to get a new engine and the car back on the road and if that means a lower milage direct replacement (ej251) that's fine. But if I can get ahold of one of a closed deck legacy engine or shortblock (ej22t) I'd like to start building it up so something a little more powerful than stock.
Thanks,
Hope your all doing well.

Those are drastically different options. Are you building a turbo car or replacing an engine. Not to mention getting the ej22t block is going to be double if not more then the whole 2.5

I realize that they are very different motors, if I can find a closed deck I'd just be willing to put in the work, but save that I would just like to get the car running again
