Good video, but impossible to tell where it's coming from. Lucky for you, it's pretty regular. Try holding the A-Pillar trim and gauge cluster trim one at a time to see if that stops the sound.

Tried both, didn't help. The passenger side does it too. Seems to be worse with higher temperatures outside.

Well... I'm out of ideas. Try pressing on everything lol
My trim around the radio made ticking noises as well when it was hot out, so make sure to try pressing on that too.

Hmmm, still makes me think of the speaker grill. Iím at a loss otherwise, but you could check any wires inside the grill that are loose, or something else loose in there.

This reminds me that I have a rattle coming from a place different from where the cause is, because of the sound reflections in the car off the hard surfaces.

When I would turn up the bass on my 2x 10Ē subs, Iíd hear a rattle coming from the right side of my car, making me think it was the right front or rear passenger door. But after applying dynamat to the inside panel and inside of the outer metal door on all 4 doors it continued.

Then I thought, maybe itís a switch in the right door, but pressing and holding down the switches had no effect. And my son thought it was coming from the left side when I asked him to help me.

So my son and I started to press and hold on different things and it turns out to be the roof liner panel just rear-ward of the star link. Now I have to decide how I want to approach the issue.

Finally fixed my passenger door rattles. I was getting some from near the switches and also from the bottom by the speaker. When there were certain low frequencies coming from the speaker it would rattle the door car. It's been about a week and a half and everything is still silent.

2017 STI door card rattle, rear seat rattle - in case someone is searching

Here's what I did:

Lots of this tape - it's like a fabric tape that can be used in place of electrical tape

https://www.amazon.com/Tesa-Wire-Loo.../dp/B00EH6IZ6Y

https://i.imgur.com/C32sCm2h.jpg

I placed some on the back of every door car clip and folded it over the edges so that every part of the clip that rubs against the card or the door was covered

https://i.imgur.com/3N54H1Ih.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/EFjgENah.jpg

Then I covered the edge of the speaker outline with the tape, too

https://i.imgur.com/TwSyovHh.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/F7c8HjNh.jpg

And finally I taped the **** out of the switches so they couldn't wiggle around anymore. There was a lot of play in them before

https://i.imgur.com/GjD6u88h.jpg

So far so good on this fix.

I also had a squeak/rub noise coming from the back seat. The driver's side rear seat back was rubbing in the top corner - so I dropped the seat back and then took a microfiber towel and shoved it in the top corner near the door and then closed it. That seems to have resolved that noise, too.

I just recently got a 2018 sti and every time Iím in 1st or second gear and start accelerating WOT after about 3k RPMs I hear this really loud rattle sound. It sounds like itís somewhere under the car towards the back or center. Very hard to pinpoint it. I canít replicate the rattle in any other gear besides 1 and 2. Please help ***128557; Its freaking me out

Toss your phone back there and get a video/audio of it. Might help find it. Put your rear seats down, too - see if they are involved in the noise making

I get heat shield and/or drivetrain rattle like this anytime i'm over 3500 rpm. Especially noticeable if I'm slowly rising into that range rather then WOT.

Default Driver side window (creaking)

I got one... in my 2018 wrx I noticed this creaking sound while driving - NOT when I open and close my window. It took me forever to figure out that the window needs to be down a few inches to hear it. None of my other windows do it. Personally, I like driving with my windows cracked a bit, and this is the only time I hear it.

Finally I figured out that if I park, open the window about 4 inches, grab the glass, and gently move it towards me and away from me there it is! It seems to be the rubber padding surrounding it, but it's not a noise I'd like to hear anymore.

Had that as well on my 2015, but I think I fixed it years ago as Ive been squeak free for years. Forget what I did, but it undoubtedly involved electrical tape and taking the door panel off lol

I have a 2018 WRX Premium with Cobb cat back exhaust and it seems like the heat shield between the exhaust pipe and fuel tank is rattling. I took it to the dealer and they said there was nothing they could do because I have an aftermarket exhaust. I told them it rattled before the aftermarket exhaust but still wouldn't help me.

I would just remove it but I'm worried about the gas tank getting too hot without it. Does anyone have any solutions other than removal?

buy lower hangers and you can also bend the heatshield

Seatbelt rattle 2011 hatch (Australia) - I have this issue but have not thought of a solution yet. If I do, I'll post it. Seems to be the height adjustment mechanism when going over bumpy roads. I would have thought the tensioner would hold it tight but obviously not tight enough.

I might try some sort of adhesive felt here and there but it will be fiddly.

Or I could just stick a big screw in it to disable the adjustability and stop it from moving at all but that's a bit extreme.

Anybody have an idea where rattle would be on a 2021 STi somewheres near the dash or steering column?

Only happens on bumps. I've been trying to find it one handed pushing on trim pieces etc while driving but sofar no luck!

Hey everyone, I have a 2011 impreza hatch with a rattle above the headliner, behind the driver's head. I've already taped up the metal roof-support bracket so it isn't that. Any other ideas?

It's kind of a higher-pitched rattle, maybe plastic?

FOUND IT!!!!! There's a single wire that is taped to the headliner material running above the driver front-to-rear. The sound is it tapping against the headliner. I put a long strip of foam tape between it and the headliner and the noise is gone!
