This might be one of those thing where you had to be there...

I was cruising a few months ago when it was still warm, with the windows down. I stopped at a light. This guy started getting all excited and says Dude your f______ car sounds so f__kin bad_55.

Now that doesn't sound funny by itself. The funny part is he had a car full of small children maybe 4-7yrs old (who tend to repeat anything they hear).

I just thanked him and started laughing as i pulled away.

To set the stage, some guy with a too good for everyone attitude showed up to my girls house for a party cause he knows her roommate...

Him: So is that your Subaru outside
Me: Yeah it is
Him: * chuckles*
Me: ... alright then
Him: I just have raced a few of those
Me: Oh cool what do you drive
Him: a GSXR 1000
Me: I mean...it's a bike and youre racing cars, those things are pretty light and make a lot of power

Him: Yeah I guess
Me: Those bikes can be scary though, gotta know what youre doing, I'd probably kill myself on one. A lot of people sell those because theyre scared of them.
Him: Yeah I love it though
Me: Is it your first bike
Him: Yeah, I've had it for 3 months
Me: Oh...so you havent fallen yet then.
Him: Yet?
Me: Yes.

He then proceeded to tell me his buddy has a 'turbo '04 STi" I was like wow thats nice, so he turbo swapped it? 'no it just has a turbo'

I asked what other mods, he said it just had the turbo

.....I mean I may seem like a dick here...but he had his nose up the whoooole night

The bike thing just means He'll most likely wrap himself around a pole and become one in a few months time. However... maybe I don't understand your point on this last one... the 04 STi does have a stock turbo...

He was saying something additional had been done to the car by the addition of the turbo when it comes stock

Edit: ah i see the confusion, when he said it it was like his friend bought a sti and dropped a turbo in there because there wasnt one

yeah, I gotch'a... I hadn't thought of it in the reverse either... It's funny though, I know a few guys who are hardcore speedbike kinda guys, and they still realize that.. yes, they are faster then almost anything on the road, however they also splatter like a bug on a windshield if they hit any bad luck.

Sounds like a guy with too much money at too young of an age to understand when/where those bikes can be pushed.

His girl drives a massive lifted blacked out diesel and they were canoodling all night instead of talking to people after that interaction lol.

I think the "yet" bit might have put him off a bit

Ive just had too many LA bikers shoot by me on their GSXRs etc. and try and bust a wheelie and almost fall... one of em wobbled out right in front of me and barely caught it, I dont trust it.

it takes a novice rider to get themselves into seriously deep doo-doo, it takes a world-class rider to get themselves out (or one helluvahuge horseshoe up their yingyang).

There are two kinds of riders. Those that have had kissed pavement and those who will. Seriously though, I get a pretty good mental image of the type of person who gets a liter bike as a first ride. Vegetative state imminent.

Yes I finally have one! So I had a kid in school talk about how his old tiburon was fast and could beat anything. I remember one of my friends telling me that the kid said he found a turbo in it. I was a little confused because they don't come with turbos and the kid knows nothing about cars. I asked him about the turbo and he told me that he took it out and it came stock with the turbo ( it never had one). I explained to him that taking a turbo out of a stock turbo car would mess up everything and cause it to run in smooth and he got all pissed and said I would get a tattoo one day that said "eat sleep honda" or just a Honda tattoo. He said this like 5 times and then I told him I had a subaru. He's been pissed ever since.

It's not unheard of for people to throw giant turbos at the 4 banger Tib. Also, the V6 tib responded well to supercharger kits. Stock block, TBE, intake, engine mounts and buy a Stage 2 Supercharger and you could make like 330whp reliably all day long.

Not saying he did...

So this explains why we pulled a gtx35r off of a v6 tib a couple months back? It was a guys project but he hit hard times and had to sell it.

Well I started a new job about a month ago and the head chef is a real doucher type and has the higher than life personality.

One night he had a few drinks and asked for a ride after work and I said sure. As we walk over to my car, things went like this:

Him: is it that one with the wing on it
Me: yes
H: laughs
M: you're not really a car guy are ya haha
H: is this one of those mitsu things?
M: kind of, it's a Subaru.
H: comments on the invidia n1 and confused when I say it's a 4 banger.

Then we start driving along. (Winter snowyish roads)
H: you drift this thing?
M: I guess sometimes in the snow.
H:PIN IT!!!!
M: the engine is stone cold...no
H:
H: is it 4 wheel drive
M: ya it's awd
H:aWESOME!

Then proceeds to tell me he has an old rusty stang with a $25g paint job and is now worth $80g. I just went along with it.

Car finally warmed up and we were at a dry approach so I fed him a little boost.

H: holy S**T! I had no idea. I just about s**t my pants.
M: hahahha

Made my night. Now he treats me with more respect than anyone at work. It's hilarious how much just that changed his attitude.

well, technically you can reach 38Lbs, but only after A LOT of work on the block (or he dropped in a cosworth, which can easily get 38Lbs, a friend of mine was running 42Lbs on his cosworth).
