Yes, you are right. Apple is the only technology company that ever sues anyone.

You might keep in mind that Samsung is suing over stolen technology not rounded icons. Bad example. I'd sue over stolen technology too.

How do you know it is the best phone if they haven't released any information?

i know, i know. i don't even like apple.

(never owned any other apple product and don't ever care to own/buy an apple pc/macbook/ipad)

it's just because of "PHYSICAL DESIGN"

to me, that's everything. i compare it to all other androids/windows phone and they don't match what i like (most of them looks feel very cheap and 'plasticky')

****ing apple just got it right with the phone.

c/n: if another company made a bitching/clean/slick looking phone like the iphone, then i would be more open to other choices.

ps. like i've said, i've been mostly an all show-no good kind of buy even with all my cars i've ever own

This is what is funny. When the first iphone came out it was arguably the best phone on the planet. By the time the iphone 3 came out it was no better than most android phones. Once the 4 came out android phones left iphones in the dust in almost every way a phone can be measured. I hope the 5 is innovative enough to justify the millions it will sell but I highly doubt it will be. Apple once was putting out a superior phone, now it is not but they are suing companies that are putting out superior products for copying them.

My opinion is they are trying to slow the market down so they can strategize a way to catch back up. iPhone gets a serious releas every 2 years. Android phones release the latest and greatest version of a phone every 3-6 months, both in hardware and OS. Apple is going to have a huge jump in sales when the iP5 comes out, but if it isn't insanely better, they are gonna lose alot of sales down the line as users are forced to realize Apple can no longer stay ahead of the game by their own means. Apple will either have to release an actual new version (not some joke like the 4S and 3GS) every year atleast, or pawn out their OS in an attempt to beat out Android at it's own multi-company game. They way they are pissing off 75% of the mobile market industry with these suits, not sure if many companies would want to deal with them as readily. Not to mention, Apple depends on Samsung for hardware inside the iPhone, there are not many company's that can compete with Samsung's hardware at this point, which is why I find it mentally insane to go after Samsung so hard, unless Apple has already strategized a new company for source parts.

This right here, is why Apple is one of the most successful companies ever. Each new product, before it is released, has people like this guy proclaiming it to be best thing on the planet. Without even knowing any facts.

Ignorance really is bliss.

while it may have hardware on par with the current crop of android devices, iOS 6 is nothing revolutionary. no live widgets, still locked into the same grid restrictions, pretty much the same old same old. I've had iOS 6 for about a month now and 99% of the time fail to notice any differences.

Remember when the iphone first came out and my free feature phone could do picture messaging and the iphone couldn't. Man that iphone was the best evAr.

The iphone, much like the original ipod, has experienced a revisionists version of history due to the growing success it has seen. Yes the iphone was much more successful that the original ipod, but there were other phones that were equals on many fronts. The iphone brought a unique experience, but one with many many faults.
At least, that's my opinion.

The original iPhone was indeed the best phone on the market at the time. Lack of GPS/MMS/3G included. I'd say up to the 3GS Apple made the best smartphone.

It wasn't (for me) until the Nexus One launched that Android overtook the iPhone. Since then Android has had a ton of work put into it, and is a vastly improved operating system. Apple...um, copied Android's notification shade and allowed you to change the wallpaper. That's about it.

The new Lumia 920 seems pretty slick with the uni-body poly-carbonate design and competes well in the hardware department too (on paper). You'd have to overcome the Windows stigma first though, along with saying bye bye to all your fancy wallpapers and lockscreens, but it's about design right?

So you are saying that your free feature phone was better than the iPhone? Uh ok.

It's a shame that any sort of reasonable discussion about technology brands ends this way.

That phone looks really nice and I am sure the build quality is excellent. The camera looks like it's probably the best on the market right now (advertising snafu aside). I would totally recommend that phone to someone looking for a great basic smartphone with good design and great camera. WP8 has yet to prove itself, but I think it could become a serious contender. This would be yet another phone for those who don't want to tweak every tiny detail, but just want to use a well designed phone as is. That is, if the carriers don't bastardize it.

the nokia is probably one the nicest non-apple phones i've seen but still looks a bit too plasticky for my taste.

simple, less is more.

Busy? If the screen is off there's *nothing* on the front of the phone. It doesn't get any less busy than that.
