2015 WRX & STI Known Problems / Warranty Concerns
  • WRX & STI Trunk Chipping Issue: Reports of chipped paint on the edge of the trunk deck from contact with the rear 1/4 panel of the car. Cause to be determined but suspected that either the bumpstops/latch adjustment from the factory is too low causing contact when slamming the trunk shut OR possibly due to the tie-down straps used during shipping from Japan to North America being too tight.
  • 2015 WRX & STI Base Radio Glitch: when programming presets on XM radio, the steering wheel controls for changing stations increase by the # of the last preset pressed

Yeah, no kidding. I saw this on the Ford Ecoboost 3.5L engines with a 13psi or so valve.

Not sure if there are any pictures, since I doubt anyone has taken off their intake manifold yet but he is right... Limited to 22 psi by the Johnson valve.

Will the 2015 17" WRX wheels clear the 2015 STI's calipers? I searched and have not found a definite, confirmed answer.

TIA

Default Good option for subwoofer

I have a 2015 WRX. This fits really well in the trunk: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rockford-Fos...-/391021100253

I put a 2x6 under the front to lift it up a little. Then I can push it all the way back (speakers facing rear) into the trunk. The slope of the enclosure matches that of the back seats well with this mod as it lifts the back of the sub up just enough to go over the little "ramp" at the front of the trunk (for when you fold the seats down). Leaves 85% of the trunk free. You can still fold down one side of the back seat for a snowboard or similar. I do recommend paying the extra $40 for the exact fit grills - which will bring your total to about $190 delivered.

I'm powering this with an Alpine digital d-series amp with two channels bridged. The impedance of these two woofers then matches the amp.

Base is tight and sounds really good. If you like hip hop, it thumps - shakes the rear view mirror/car. If you like rock or jazz or "normal" music, it is not overpowering/ too much (unless you want it to be). If you like pipe organ music, go with dual 12" subs in a ported box.

Pros: Cost less than $200 delivered; tight, clear bass; most of your trunk is free. Grills easy to install (line up and press in place - be sure to buy the correct ones)

Cons: a little hard to secure. I used two bungie cords, but I'm not entirely satisfied. Should come with grills.

How can you not read them with four more with 2015 in the title below it?

I'll relax when the forum is re-titled "General 2015 Community"
