Default Is this normal wear for Subaru leather seats?

My 2017 STI with 28k miles has some saggy/stretched parts on my Subaru seat. Has anyone tried a warranty claim on their seats? My previous 2011 STI hatch had cloth seats and did not sag. Iím really regretting getting a limited model..

I know this isnít a fair comparison, but my 2013 Porsche with 26k miles doesnít have a single sag/stretch mark.

i cant see the pic, but if its in the back the materials used in the bolster area are very weak...I have the alcantra/leather combo and need to take my seat apart to repair it...

my guess is no.

i went to look up the price of the cushion only.....usually $200-$300 on older cars.

now-a-days vehicle manufactures mandate if airbag goes off.....the entire seat bottom assembly needs to be replaced(seat frame/seat track/leather seat cover/cushion)
now i understand, all you need is the seat cushion.
however
because of these airbag mandates......only way you/dealership can buy a cushion is to buy entire seat bottom assembly
about $900+

im guessing here but how tight dealerships are run, doubtful
most likely would come out with some sort of excuse why they cant replace under warrenty

Try using a hairdryer or steamer to shrink the leather.

Since it doesn't appear to be a defect, it likely wouldn't be a warranty issue. I would think leather naturally stretches with use.

I’ve warrantied similar issues (I’m a dealer tech) but it was for very good customers and not something I’d do for most because you can and will get hassled about it by your service manager and the warranty rep so your saving grace needs to be "look how much money the spend here."

If you’ve done all your maintenance there on both cars or have a good relationship otherwise I’d say give it a shot, worst they’re gonna do is say no. If you really, really push the boss he’ll probably give in and do I would expect my service appointments to go less smooth in the future.
